  Just wondering what everyone does when you're around people who drink and it brings up urges. I've been with family and lately they have been drinking in the evenings. Most of the time I can be around it and it doesn't bother me a whole lot. I keep in mind the positive ways my life has changed since I quit drinking and it's usually enough to help me fight through any urges. The last few days though have been hard.   This post isn't so much about drinking. I'm just feeling a need to vent without judgement,which I don't think I can get from family..who I normally turn to during hard times. I've struggled with depression and addiction most of my life. Suicide attempts and rehab as a teenager,pill addiction and alcoholism since then as well.    Just wondering if you guys do anything to celebrate when you reach the anniversary of your sobriety. Today is my two year anniversary. I'm feeling grateful to be here but it's also an emotional day for me. My uncle is the one who took me to my first meeting two years ago today. I credit him for helping me get sober.   How have you coped with mistakes you've made in the past while you were drinking? I don't know how to not feel like a piece of shit for a lot of it.   I haven't posted in a while. I don't get online much anymore. But I'm finding myself struggling so I thought I could use some venting,maybe some words of wisdom. It's kind of a bitch how the urge to drink never goes away. Yeah it gets better and lessens,but for me it's always there. And sometimes it comes back with a vengeance..like it has now.   Today is my one year of sobriety. I've waiting a long time for this day. I remember the early days and feeling like I would never make it. But I did. It's a bittersweet day though.   I just want to say thank you to everyone in this group who has ever offered support and advice. I not only have struggled with being an alcoholic,but I have major depression and anxiety as well. I feel completely alone with my issues at home. My family and friends have been supportive but they don't truly know what I've gone through. But even when I feel alone like that,I can always come here and am offered support and advice. Thank you for giving me that place to go.

  I struggle with severe depression and anxiety. I have my whole life but I've had traumatic events happen over the last two years and it has spiked majorly. I was taking celexa and buspirone but weaned myself off of it because my husband and I have talked about having another baby. Now that I'm off of them,I'm questioning if it was the right choice.
