Just want to say..

I just want to say thank you to everyone in this group who has ever offered support and advice. I not only have struggled with being an alcoholic,but I have major depression and anxiety as well. I feel completely alone with my issues at home. My family and friends have been supportive but they don't truly know what I've gone through. But even when I feel alone like that,I can always come here and am offered support and advice. Thank you for giving me that place to go.

I too am an isolator. I find that even in a room full of people I feel alone. Somehow I have found the ability to be a part of within my aa group. Honestly the world ( family, friends, and coworkers) just don’t get me. Other alcoholics do. I have found I can finally enjoy life without hiding in a bottle today.

I remember when I first thought about quitting, nobody understood what I was feeling....nobody understood what I was going through....and nobody had a clue just how much I was suffering so all I wanted to do was talk to another alcoholic who was in recovery so I would know what to expect. I wanted to hear from someone who had been in my shoes and understood the challenges of sobriety, who would talk to me during my darkest hours when life seemed like it wasn't worth living anymore.

I found those people in AA and on here as well. People who would do anything to help me stay sober, people who really cared, people who were just like me only sober for longer periods of time..... without them, I don't think I could have made it for 10 years....

That is so true tiny dancer2. I have found this site to be quite the stress releaser. Keep coming on to the groups, there some great members that are very supportive I have found also. Communication is a key to release me from me. The more I communicate about emotions, and feelings the more relieved that I am. Welcome to the group!

    check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

     I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...
