Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I'm feeling broken. I feel lost and stuck and I don't know how to get out of it. How do you move on from pain and heartache in your life? The past is gone. We cannot change it. All we can do is learn from it and make today and our future better. I know all of this. But how do you accept loss,betrayal..all the negative things. How do you learn to live with the things that keep you up at night and hurt your heart? I've lost someone I love deeply. He's hasn't died but he's made the decision to leave my life voluntarily. Sometimes I feel like that's even harder. Being left by choice. Now Im stuck with memories and sadness and I truly don't know how to move on. I keep myself busy throughout the day. I workout. I look at positive quotes. I'm trying my hardest to let go and live happily and freely. But I feel like a prisoner of my own mind. I can't get out and I'm driving myself crazy thinking about things that are done and over with. I'm steadily wanting to drink more and more so I'm having to battle that at the same time. I feel like I am on the verge of a break down but I don't know how to stop it. I feel alone. Sometimes I want to give up and give in. I don't know how to handle all these feelings. I hate complaining and always feel bad about doing it but if anyone has advice I'd appreciate it. I don't know where else to turn right now. I don't want to lose myself again but I feel like it's happening.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

I posted in the divorce group but all I got in return were replies, tainted the the hate and divisiveness of other people's breakups. I was told to go for blood. I just couldn't do it. That wasn't me....it wasn't who I am. I stopped posting because I was feeling worse, not better.
I needed different help to deal with it and I couldn't think of a better time to call upon my Higher Power! I began to practice meditation and spending quiet moments alone.
One day my answer came to me while I was meditating. I just needed to accept things the way they were and forgive myself for all the resentment and self pity I was holding on to so that I could let it go. Here is the Prayer that helped me with that:
"""Take this from me and look upon, judging it for me.
Let me not see it as a sign of sin and death, nor use it for destruction.
Teach me how NOT to make it an obstacle to Peace,
But let YOU use it for me, to facilitate it's coming."""
Things began to get better.! It's been 6 years since my divorce....since I had my last relapse. I live my life in the moment because the past is dead and the future hasn't arrived but I am the writer of my script....the designer of my future..... and I can go anywhere I want, and do whatever I want! I am happier now then I have ever been in my life! I wish the same for you!
God Bless
