  Hello,I am new to this group and hope to find some answers. My 19 year old son was recently diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder. He is not bi-polar, only has depression with psychotic symptoms. What I do not understand is where this came from. Most of the studies that I have done state that those with psychosis (hearing voices) have a genetic link to someone else in the family who has similar symptoms.
