Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
You should read all your posts and how you chose to ignore the advice from the people here and how you decided to NOT respect her repeated requests for space and time away.
Just a thought.
Don't you realise most of us have been in your shoes? You don't just lose a spouse you lose your in-laws too. It is heartbreaking! It is! I've been there too. Every emotion you're experiencing is perfectly normal at this time. Why can't you accept that? Accept the pain & loss you're feeling. Embrace it. Cry every night if necessary, but in the daytime on on a brave face. Especially in front of your kids. They deserve that.
Do you think we all didn't try enough? Do you think we gave up too easily? If we'd all begged & wept a little harder (like you're doing) then our betraying spouses might return?
Best of luck to you
ESL, nobody here is judging you. We all support you. You're entitled to come here & vent & cry without implementing any advice. You're hearing it... but you're not ready (yet) to heed it.
You're currently experiencing something called cognitive dissonance which when your brain is trying to hold 2 opposing thoughts - (1) you love your wife deeply (2) She has gone... The unpleasantness you feel is the 'static' of trying to believe those 2 things simultaneously.
At the moment you're holding tightly onto thought number (1) - loving your wife & completely unable to accept thought number (2) - she has gone. One day you will be ready & the balance will shift.
I did used to sort of 'pray' when my spouse left me... I never prayed for him to return though... I prayed for strength to get through this awful situation - whatever the outcome.
'Que sera sera' if you like... or 'Thy will be done'...
Do you have any hobbies? Anything whatsoever to distract you now & again? Can you go out & socialise even if you don't feel like it? Do anything to boost your self-worth & self-esteem? Do some exercise to channel your despair into something constructive?
Also I swear the only remote chance of her ever being interested in you is for her to think you're moving on somewhat. When you cry she runs a mile. When you act strong her attention is resumed.
Fake it. Feign til you reign. Focus on nurturing & strengthening yourself & see what happens...
Your daughter's birthday is supposed to be all about her.
You have changed it to an event that is all about you.
We have all pretended to be happy at times when it was in our kids best interest. Please start thinking of your kids feelings. Their feelings should come first over yours.
