Good morning All! The weekend was wonderful - fun, food, and holiday prep. It was't perfect - or at least I wasn't perfect. There were two occasions where I lied. Again, they were nothing that really mattered as far as subject, but there is no excuse for lying. They happened when I was not thinking of the other person. Probably I stumble on that more than anything else. I'll lie when I'm afraid, nervous, caught in a bad situation, in a big hurry, etc, At that point I am thinking of only myself and how to make myself look better, get out of the situation, CMA, etc. I've had an honest day so far and I'm looking forward to the next opportunity to decide to be honest. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

howdy y'all another weekend over and working as hard as ever at being honest. went dancing last night and enjoyed myself dancing and keeping myself honest. ever onward (honestly i hope).

howdy Samatha, welcome to the "group". families can be a real pain in the arse, but we're stuck with them and need to learn to deal with them the best way we can. I wish you luck in your endeavors to be truthful, it's, for me at least, a one step at a time thing. think before i speak and when i do speak, speak truthfully. i'm sure that you'll do fine, getting started is the first step..again welcome to the group. another day of honesty for me.

Hello All - and Welcome Samantha! I've been honest today, though I was tempted. I did as medicx stated - think before speaking (especially of the effect that my lying has had on myself and others), then speak the truth. Regardless of why or to whom we lie, there is community here. I've looked for advice and found it in these posts - from people who are all dealing with similar issues. We all want to do better. And sometimes it is the people who are closest to us who are the most difficult to deal with. I wish you luck. Here's to another honest day for all of us!

I still have to consciously think about not automatically lying or putting some kind of spin on my reply. As you say, it is day by day and moment by moment. The biggest step is admitting I have a problem. But now I have a choice. Hang in there everyone.
