thanks 'btr' and 'bng' both of you have made points that i'm guilty of, have been guilty of and hope to hell won't be guilty of in the future. 'bng' is correct in that having a professional therapist will certainly speed up the process, but for those of us who can't have that option, as he pointed out there is a strong support system here for us. a happy truthful day to y'all
Having said that yesterday was very powerful session with my therapist and I was painfully honest with her - I felt awful afterwards, but I suppose that is part of getting to the bottom of my lying - I can survice the pain, but I will not survive continual lying.
Yesterday was lie, omission, embellishment, image-management free and I will work towards the same goal today.
Happy lie-free Thursday to all
There is no more envelope to push, if I blow it one more time I lose everything - I just needed to get that out there.
Happy Friday and may your day and weekend be lie-free.
next time i hope to be truthful.
and i know the advice about thinking before speaking. but i thought about it and i made the decision to lie. it wasnt even reflex this time. sigh.
hope you all did better than i did
This morning I realized I omitted something yesterday to me omission = lie; it was small and I did it to allow someone to feel better about themselves. I corrected the omission this morning without any adverse reactions. I simply explained my desire to be totally honest. The omission was about a lollipop - seriously, a lollipop. Their response? Okay.
I felt better and no harm done to the relationship. Today I will avoid lies and omissions.
hoping that everyone is doing well, temptation reared it's ugly head last night and i really had to back off and actually leave the area....damn some days are good and some are real asskickers....slow down, stop, and then speak and speak the truth. it gets harder and it gets easier...a good truthful day to everyone
May y'all have a truthful Monday! Welcome Alex - this site and this group have helped me immensely.
ive been lie free since my slip. its hard. ive started getting strange looks from biting my lips and refusing to respond. because its either i lie or i tell the truth and possibly upset somebody. stuck between a rock and a hard place. well im gonna chisel me a picture of truth in that rock. and silence to the hard place
wishing everybody a truthful day. if you stumble just get back up and try again. we are all hear to help
*hugs all around*
