Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

Woah had BAD urges last night!!!!!!!!!!! I noticed in the afternoon that I had a very sore patch on my scalp, about the size of my palm, kinda behind my ear ish on top of my head ish. It was mainly only sore when I touched it. By night time, when I got home I was touching it heaps, had a massive urge to just rip out all of the hair in that area! I was brushing it, and was glad about the fact that hairs were coming out (they were coming out naturally). Urgh. Was doing design work too so that didn't help. I was so agitated! It's only a little sore now. I wonder why the heck that happens? Anyone else get this?????????? I wonder if it's from wearing my hair up for a few days. I don't wear it tight or anything, but still, it's in a bun.
Glad I don't get that all the time! I guess things really have improved.
Your boyfriend sounds like a dream! :)
and oyu have SUCH AMAZING self control! my god- keep up the great work!
Hehe Kaux, hmmmmm! We've talked about marriage from very early on in our relationship, but we're in no rush. A little more time and money is needed. But if he randomly asked (though I don't think he will for another year) I think I know what my answer would be!! Ok random proposal story, when my bf's parents were on a trip to Turkey with some other people, a guy managed to get them into a dolphin pool when it was closed. They were swimming around with the dolphins when one swam up to the girl with an engagement ring on it's nose. Best proposal ever!
Mrs Kolo - yes it is horrible! Luckily doesn't happen that often. It only ever lasts a day, maybe a day and a half.
Thanks Firante!! Hehehe yes I do. Cos I'm in control!!! I get to choose whether I pull a hair or not. MEEEEEEE! Though it certainly is really really hard not to.
Well I went out last night with my good friend, we had a great night, drank lots of wine. But the worst hangover ever this morning, no fair, she didn't have one! I think it's cos I haven't drank that much in so long. I had to work at 10am and I kept throwing up so they sent me home. I felt like such a jerk!
good proposal story - mine was I got proposed to in a car park LOL!!
Hehe, nice! I don't really have any preconceived ideas about how/if my bf will propose. Hehe I don't care!
How it was explained to me that the bald area was a "trigger point" for soothing relief.
Your strength is amazing! Keep up the excellent work!
Sorry for your hangover, glad you went out with your girlfriend!
You can do this, and you are such an inspiration to all of us!
Hope you're feeling better after your horrendous hangover!
aaaah I totally feel for you on the soreness thing
it'll pass! just give it time!
try massaging it in the shower so you won't pull..or am I the only one who NEVER pulls when my hair is wet?
or try putting ice in a washcloth and putting that on to numb it a bit
you are so strong! keepnit up!
