Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

youre doing so great! keep up the amazing work!!!!!
Aaaaaaaargh I did this. Me. I made it happen. I did it because pulling isn't worth the effects of pulling. I did it with small goals. I did it with support. I did it with sheer determination, grit, willpower and stubbornness. It was really hard.. And it still is really hard. I know it will continue to be really hard. But to me it's worth it. I have achieved a full head of hair, a trip to the hairdresser, and walking around with wet hair after a shower.
You can do it too. Trich is something we can control.
I can't wait to see your hair!!! I have a great product for curly hair - mine curls when it is allowed to grow long. But still thinking of chopping it off then letting it grow maybe next year!
Enjoy the holiday, be aware, stay safe, and look sharp (if you are gazing, keep your stuff protected), and you will have the best time ever!
Congratulations!
The more you keep busy, the easier it will be to relax!
Good for you to take the time to visit with your grandfather, he deserves to share in your thrilling moment of natural hair downs!
Thanks for the product tip, I just bought some expensive products from the salon, so I'm I'm not in the market for another for a little while! I say go for the chop, if only to feel the freedom.
Ok how I chose a salon. I didn't want one close to my house as u didn't want to run into anyone I knew there. I picked a city suburb about half an hr from my bfs house, and typed in that, and "great hair salon". Found one, checked reviews (positive) checked photos on their website (gorgeous). Then called to speak to the owner and asked if she had heard of trich. She had, she congratulated ne on my pf time. I had found a winner!!
Thanks for your advice mid :) I will take it! Yeah I love seeing my curls in my peripheral..
xoxoxo
