Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Well I've been doing better this past week. I've collected I think 6 good days out of the last 7 days. A great improvement! I seem to have increased motivation to exercise and regularly cook healthy meals too. I think it's because the weather is starting to warm up here after a long winter.
Anyway, I need to start doing all those good things again, like meditating, regular yoga, being mindful, taking deep breaths every time I get an urge or pull a hair, counting my hairs, keeping barriers and fiddle toys close by, etc etc etc etc. Gosh it's a LOT of work.
I have been terrible lately and almost forgot about charting good days (it's been that long...). You inspired me to be vigilant. Congrats on deciding to use what you know helps and for posting again.
I did ok pulling wise yesterday and today. I was very busy yesterday doing fun things so that always helps doesn't it? Breathe..
We should.all do those things to take care of ourselves but it's so hard to remember to do so sometimes x
Okay, I promise to go for a walk, take my vitamins and do my stretching tomorrow, before I design a banquette and continue with an on-line class. Okay, that is a big commitment. Too much? It is out there.
How will your day be?
Stuck, again. Feeling determined, again. Finding it hard to feel like I've got a hand on it, again. But I'm here, again.
Big hugs to you Phoebe, Mid and trickster, if you see this xoxoxo
