Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Mew, sorry you have a cold Lien. Enjoy your fresh OJ!
Thanks Mrs Kolo, I do..... It's so exciting. It's a new phase, and I just can't believe it's actually happening.
Firante YEAH! Hehe I'm looking for a hairdresser right now actually.
Ok.......... So after writing that last sentence it really reminded me I need to get on to making an appointment. I have found this place and I called. Fuck. It was hard! I asked if she had heard of trichotillomania. She said no. I said it was a hair pulling condition. She said ohhhhh yeah I've heard of that. I said, well I have that. She said, oh, so is your hair thinned out then? And I said no, I have been pull free for over 7 months. And she said CONGRATULATIONS! I know that's a really hard thing to let go. And I said yeah. I was trying not to cry the whole time and I think she could tell. I got her name, and I'll make an appointment for next week when I get my work roster. When I got off the phone I just cried. Wow. I really didn't expect that to happen. I don't know why I didn't expect it, every time I tell someone I have trich I break down and cry. Jeez. Trich has really done a number on me! The secrecy and shame, day in day out for over a decade.
I really don't want to cry when I'm in the salon. I really, really really don't. This is hard! But I can do it, and I will do it. Next week, it's hair cut time. First time in maybe 8 or 9 years. Eep!
and im sure they understand- thats great that the lady seemed to be nice and happy for you!
make sure you upload a pic of your beautiful new do afterwards and tell us how it goes!
god youre such an inspiration- i feel like your blazing a new trail for all of us trich-ies!
can't wait to see your wonderful haircut :)
I cry loads! I have decided that some people cry a lot and some people don't because I used to get really worked up about how much I cry compared to what I think is normal but THERE IS NO NORMAL. It is definitely a release of emotions so let it all out! and if you cry in the hair dressers- that is to be expected. You will be so proud and happy :D take some tissues ;)
welldone :D wow you are an inspiration to us all. xxxx
Thank you thank you thank you again, I couldn't be at this point without this group. There is just absolutely no way. I am so grateful for the day I stumbled across DS, and Granit invited me to come and visit this group.
Babypanplayer - I cry loads too. I cry at everything! Happy and sad things. Ha, I think I will take some tissues. My bf will prob be there, so he'll keep me happy.
I"m so busyyyy, and here I am procrastinating. Bad Sam!
When I’m really tired and frustrated I sometimes cry when we’re out of bread, so don’t bother about crying over a REAL big deal :)
Woohooow I’m so proud of you, you’re such an inspiration!
