Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

I don't really know how to label this but I having a rough week and I can't say it's one thing.... I have a lot on my plate which is nothing new and I try to cope in many positive ways and do but I still have my moments. My kids more so my daughters talk to me about everything which I know it's cause of comfort and we are close.... however I really struggle with the venting about their dad which...

Hehe veebs noooo, have not packed, though I have kinda started. Still have a few last minute things to do, eep!! But I've got extensive lists, so I know what's happening.
3 days!! My parents are driving us to the airport, even though I protested. Ugh it's going to be emotional. I won't let it get bad!
Hurrah on your success!
Aaaaaanyway I'm stressed stressed STRESSED! Got lots of design work to do today and tomorrow, plus a million other little annoying things to do. ARGH! Breathe.... Breathe....
Now I'm wearing my hair out so often, I have access to MANY more kinky hairs. They are definitely few and far between, but still more readily available than when my hair was always in a bun. I've cut a few of the bastards close to the root. Removing temptation. Ugh and tonnes of my white hairs are showing too, Loreal is tres shit at covering whites (dyed it with loreal preference a few weeks ago). Swarzkopft brilliance is awesome at covering up whites (got some to dye it tomorrow). Yeah yeah chemicals are bad. I'll focus on natural when I get back from my holiday! (Though I do have some lovely sulphate free soap for the trip.. fig and something.. )
So yes, stress levels at a high, haven't even had an appetite yet today, though I've had 3 glasses of good OJ.
Thinking about flying out to Europe in 2 days feels very surreal. It's weird. I'm not excited. Cos it doesn't feel real!
I definitely think cutting the kinky hairs is the way to go. It'll give them time to heal, so when they fall out naturally, they'll grow back gorgeous and non-kinky. Also, if there's a strand driving you crazy, I find it helps to coat it with conditioner. It's good for it the hair, and the slipperiness of the conditioner is a barrier.
2 days! Much excitingness - have you got some excellent reading matter for the plane?
Hope you have a fabby few days prepping for your trip :D
Sooooooo exciting!
Veebs - NO!!! Hehe I"ll have to find something around my house, many many books here. I totally forgot, I was planning on getting a second hand book that I could exchange in hostels, and continue to exchange as I went around Europe. I'll find something! (or 2).
Hehe I'll be excited tomorrow Mrs. Kolo :) :) :) I kinda am now.
Which countries are you visiting?
I bet the hair is a huge confidence boost. Enjoy :D
