You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.
Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

My day...today...misplaced my debit card...didn't realize it until I got to the register after shopping to a full cart. I have a lot on my plate which is nothing new and I try to cope in many positive ways and do but I still have my moments.My kids more so my daughters talk to me about everything which I know it's cause of comfort and we are close.... however I really struggle with the venting about their dad which...
And yes-- 2 seconds of pleasure is definitely not worth it! I love that feeling, when your brain is all clear and your logic is easily overtaking your physical urges.

I actually feel bad for what I’m about to say, but I felt a bit sad when you said “I’m really ready to give up trich, just over it”, this is so selfish of me but I thought: “Oh no, sam is going to leave DS, she no longer needs this place”.

I'm not into dresses, although I've recently bought a few skirts in an attempt to be more feminine. Skirts, just so I can wear them with the tops I already own. I like pants though. I get cold so damn easily. Not today though, it's 115 or something crazy here today.
Have fun shopping for vacation! I think the planning and the excitement leading up to vacation is almost just as fun as the actual vacation.

"2 seconds of pleasure is not worth it" is something I can easily say when I'm not feeling any urges to pull my hair. When I am, I still say it to myself, but my gosh it's hard to resist, as I start making all sorts of rationalisations; "Just one, what difference will it make", "I have so much hair it won't matter."
Kaux, and op shop is a second hand shop, generally selling clothing. Hmmm didn't actually go shopping as there was torrential rain, and shopping while it's raining is very yucky. Having to peel off wet clothes to put on other ones, yuck! My friend and I bar hopped, then got some thai food, then got a coffee, then a cider and some cake. Oh my, I over indulged, and I felt sick on the train home!
Hehe tiredoftrich, the Australian accent is one of the hardest to fake, no one can really do it!

Thank you, confident, for commenting on my picture. I agree with you, that the trich can leave, however, the support is always needed to keep the trich at a distance.
