Sibling relationships can be difficult. My husband has great relationships with his sisters, which makes me realize how non-existent mine is with my brother. It is sad.

Your time to fly away is approaching. Today's economy makes it difficult and life is so much more expensive now. What is the age difference between you & your sister?

I think memory is also really complicated - I remember reading that we often actually dont remember things from childhood, rather we remember a reconstruction - from what we have been told etc. I could swear I remember my sister being born (i was 2 years 9 months but have no memory of my Mum being pregnant at all.

I could never live with my sister! We'd kill each other (she still lives at home aged 24 and I do look down on her for it tbh) we have lived apart ummmmmm 8 years and our relationship is beginning to improve - I sent her chocs for her birthday (from hotel chocolat her fave) and she actually rang me to say thankyou. That was the first time she has rang me in 3 years !!!

I tried living with my sister a few times. It wasn't too bad, especially for her since I was basically her live-in nanny. But in the last two years we haven't really talked. We got into this huge fight and haven't come back together yet. This has happened more often recently because my lifestyle has changed and hers is still stuck in the things we used to do when we were 21.

I'm not close to anyone in my family. Except my kids, because of trich I avoid and have avoided them since I was 17. I don't know if they understand why I don't attend at family gatherings, birthdaypartys, weddings etc. I love them but I don't dare to let them see my head. I have a huge weight on my shoulders,feelings of guilt that I haven't let my kids have a normal childhood with relatives around them.
The only relatives we meet regularly is my mom and sister.

Phoebe - Yeah my relationship with my sister has been up and down a few times. But I think we really need a break. I do wonder how long it could be, it has the potential to last years. She is 2 and a half years younger than me. She is 22, but she acts 17. And lucky you remembering your childhood, I'm sad about this, and I wonder if this is part of the reason why I don't want kids. (Of course I'm open to changing my mind, and I feel like I probably will).

Mrs kolo - Wow I could never imagine anything from that young. But yes, I do believe we "remember" things that have been told to us, or if we've seen photos of them, more than actually remembering events. Eh what would I know, my memory is shit innit! HAHA at you looking down on your sister for living at home at age 24, cos I live at home aged 24. But I also look down on myself for it! Honestly though, I do it for my parents. My mum doesn't have the best mental health and I know my dad loves me living there. I do believe my relationship with my sister will get better, if she grows up, or if I can accept that she will always put herself first.

Christina - Yes, that's the same for my sister and I. We were very similar a few years ago, then we both grew in opposite directions. She still acts like a teenager.

Granit - That's so sad. But I'm sure your kids don't mind, or blame you. Maybe if you confided in your kids the reason why they don't see their relatives, the weight would be lifted?

Hmm well I'm 186 days pull free today, coolie. I've been so sick :( I have lost my voice! Completely. I can JUST whisper. Juuust. It sucks. It was my bf's end of uni celebration party on Friday night, and I was sick but decided to party anyway. It was SO MUCH FUN! I obviously drank too much tequila though as I was ill the next day. I had to work last night, and I really wish I didn't go :( I felt so crap all night. And THEN I forgot I had to work today, and they called me, and I couldn't talk, so my boyfriend had to tell them that I was sick and forgot I had to work. Oh my god. I feel so bad about that, and I know I"m going to get yelled at by my boss. I've never done anything like that before, I feel like such a drop kick. Ugh. UGHHHHH.

Haha, yeah bf has been lovely. Um well it depends on what job you have really, and how long you have off. So I'm a casual at this job, so if I don't go in, I don't get paid. I get no sick days. When you are full time you get sick leave and personal leave, the amount varies from job to job but generally 12 days a year. I don't know the conditions for long term leave, also depends on what job you have. My friend has a government job, and took about 5 months off to be in hospital, and she did not get fired. However my other friend was in hospital sick and her company let her go.

Thaaanks, I hope I'm well soon. I have to work every day this week starting from tomorrow, ewww. Unless I call in sick tomorrow night.. Ugh. I still can't talk, just whisper.
