Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

I heard that 28 days is how long it takes to break a habit (..there's a new book out on the "28-day diet") Makes sense to me. If you can get to this point, you have really turned a corner. Keep on humming, dear girl.
Mrs k, my new years resolutions are probably similar/exactly the same to those of many other people. Get a job, get fit, move out. And a job as in a full time thing, working for someone who isn't me.
Phoebe hmm interesting. Now if only trich was just a habit! But I do believe after we hit certain amounts of days it gets easier. Day one definitely being the hardest. I do feel very different now, I feel more in control. Like my automatic reaction isn't to pull, it's to put my hand back down and take a deep breath or two.

Almost can't believe it. September, October and November were so freakin' hard and now it's just so much easier. Could just be part of a cycle or whatever but I like to think it's all that damn effort i put in and the support I got from you guys.
Thank you thank you thank you.
