Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

I bought some body quality henna and indigo from aus but think I'm going to buy it from mehandi in the US next time, as its certified. Yeah not such a fan of having my hair wrapped up, but it's not awful!
So fiiiiinally rinsed my henna-indigo mix out and the result was very dark brown hair, no red really, even in the light. No crazy colours and no hair falling out so that's a plus! Apparently the colour will deepen in the next few days, hmmm. I'm going to try dying my hair with henna only next time, as I do want a really deep reddish brown, and my hair is naturally dark brown, so that should give me the result I'm after! What's great with the henna is that you can apply it as often as you like without damaging your hair at all.
Thanks so much Emmy for getting me onto this.
Anyways, keep up the great work :)
Thanks Mid, yeah it's very exciting, no more horrible chemical hair dyes!!
Well I'm working hard today, have a haircut tomorrow (my second haircut in well over 10 years! I'm so desperately in need of a cut, I've been so lazy, that's why it's been so long. Oh and when I was overseas for three months I didn't really want to get it cut there), and I'm 2 months pull free on Saturday! Ok, now the past week I've pulled out several tiny baby hairs that were ready to come out, and yesterday I pulled at least 5 of them. I was really struggling. I know honestly I should start my count over, but I'm not going to. With my count so high it's such a big motivator for me, and if I can move past this and be 100% pull free for today and the next few days, then I will not start my count over. So when I cheer for 2 months pull free, I'm not blatantly disregarding those hairs, but for like 99.9% of 2 months I HAVE been pull free so I'm gonna celebrate!
60 days pull free
Yesterday i worked on my laptop all day and there was very minimal playing, and absolutely no pulling! Well done me.
My main triggers while doing work are feeling stressed, ashamed, worthless, a failure! (feel like I won't make the deadline, feel like I'll disappoint the client, feel like I'm just not creative enough, feel overwhelmed at how much I have to do in such a short period of time). Fortunately I was not feeling any of those things yesterday, so my urges were minimal! I was very proud, I brought my hand down many times.
Off to my hair cut, yay! Can't believe I've been so lazy that I haven't gotten it cut since my first cut last year. Oh well it's not in too bad shape. It's grown SO much though, when wet the longer front bits go well below my collar bone! It's grown about 6cm. I want it shorter again.
La la la anyway bye for now.
Go for it, hands down, stay busy, be positive, and know you are an inspiration to us all!
61 days, yes!!
