Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

You can do this, you are doing this, and keep them hands busy!
Stay strong!
I'm still struggling but it's mostly conscious pulling. I pulled one this afternoon subconsciously after being of all day and it just released the trich thoughts; "oh I've already ruined my count today". Fark.
Noticed a definite, though small, very thin patch on the back of my crown. Aaaaaargh! First thin/bald patch in almost a year! what a pull heavy relapse this has been.
I am so determined to keep my hair.
Pf written on my hand as a reminder, I can do this and I will. No more laziness. Yes it's hard but I can do it.
Stealing your PF on the hand idea!
hands down Sam!
Thanks for the "tough" love accepting and lien :) xx
Been very strong, using several of my techniques. (breathing, hands down, wet hair).
Looked at the top of my head in the mirror, oooh definitely a very thin patch. I'm going to take a photo as a reminder! I don't think anyone else but me would notice it.. But I definitely know it's there. Scalp is a bit pink there too. My poor hair babies! My poor scalp!
I feel a renewed sense of commitment. I feel more motivated definitely.
"Hey you, trich bitch, forget it, not gonna happen" ;) :D
