I had a nice day over in Central Oregon yesterday. We came back last night as my friends had a meeting scheduled and couldn't change it. We ended up going Wed afternoon and just took one car. They treated us to a mexican dinner that was fabulous. It was beautiful and it is a lovely day down here in the valley today. A bit nippy but wonderful sunshine. Happy Veterans Day to everyday. If there are any vets on the forum, I salute you. Both my mom and dad were vets and I am very proud of that.
My hubby has a gig this evening. There will be some kind of ceremony early on. Bob will probably sing "God bless the USA" and perhaps one other patriotic song. Then back to their regular repetoire. We will have to take two cars as I will be taking and picking my son up today and tomorrow. There is no bus line out to where Mark works and he has no car. I really don't mind coming home early from the gigs have heard all of the music a million times over but occasionally they throw a new one at me. It helps me to get in bed earlier and not get my sleep screwed up. Saturdays I either don't go or come home even at 9 or 9:30 so that I will get up on Sonday am and go to church.
Mark did announce that he was moving out Dec 1st. I asked Bob if that means I no longer take him to and from work. If he is big enough to move out, he is big enough to provide his own transportation is the way I see it. Sorry for the cynical attitude but that is how I feel currently. Enough of rant. smiley face now. I am glad to have Bob home today. Our daughter is doing her job today. It seems like all of the world is working except for the govt. I expected the MD's to be closed but none are. Gotta keep the $$ rolling in.
I just found out that my lap band surgery has been approved but only until Dec 19th. I am excited and thankful. I really hope that weight loss will help my joints and back or at least keep it from getting worse. I am kinda paying for my little trip today. I slept on a pull out couch which isn't bad but I did a new number on my neck. Oh well, they say you gotta pay if you are going to play. it was worth it.
Everyone have a nice day. If you go shopping, pace yourselves. I figure the whole world is out today with the Veterans Day sales. I am not going, no way in ykw! It is bad enough to have to get gas today, lol.
Big hugs,
Melinda
I had to wait over 2 months for an appt., but it was worth it. I got my er med back...lowest dose for a month and then an increase. I am switching from Zoloft to Cymbalta. Just knowing I have my caring, trusting doc back, makes me feel better even if the pain hasn't changed much, yet.
Right now, my neck and shoulder down my arm are really killing me and I have another haircut/style to do. I'll manage...I usually do. I don't really have a choice.
Anyway...it's pain that has kept me from posting much. I'm going to do better...
Hugs,
Cherry
The advertising for Christmas is driving me nuts, while I love Christmas Day and my family, the idea of preparing for it makes me want to pull up the Doona covers and sleep through it all!
I'm sure I will get into the spirit of things soon enough! I do love the smell of a roasting turkey..". Yum...Christmas pudding...yum x. Hope all have as good a week as possible.... Positive thoughts to all
The weather was nice today, in the upper 60s, and we spent alot of it outside. I feel really good tonight........that's right....I said I feel really good tonight. I'm not hurting and I'm letting a nice dinner settle sitting in my recliner watching spongebob with the boys.
I can't believe how good I feel tonight after feeling so horrible on Wednesday. I really wanted to give up that day, I can honestly say I've never felt worse than that.
We have several things going on this weekend, I hope I hold up well.
Not sure why I'm getting a break from my pain, but I'll sure take it. Now I just need to not do anything to hurt myself, ha ha.
Hope everyone was able to enjoy the day,
Mike
There are so many posts...but, I do want to say that I always read each and every one of them. I am praying for you my friends, laughing with you and, sometimes, crying with you.
I am glad that I did not offend Manny with my freedom of speech...but, it still does not sound like you are on strike ...HMMMMMM?? Do you need me to show you how to do it? LOL
I am really glad that SweetlifeBF checked in..Honey, I know you can't type very much. I miss you and I am always keeping you in my thoughts and heart. You know...HP 7/2 came out yesterday!!!! I have asked for it for Xmas. I think my family can pull together 20 bucks for my enjoyment. HEHEHHE
Nealy, that sounds like a great program. I am so thankful that you guys received some help and...I am more thankful that you are not our there stacking wood. Make your MIL stack the wood -- she's a tough old bird! LMAO!!! Talk later my friend.
Twetch, we are grateful too...thank you for posting and for keeping us smiling!
SSL--it sound slike you are going through a little bit of trials my friend. HUGGING you and sending you my good thoughts. Curling up with my dogs and the little duck was exactly as you imagined....wonderful, warm, cozy, mommy time. I love it!
Cherry--YAY!!! I am so glad that you were able to return to your doc and medications that help you control your pain. I hate it when doctors won't be consistent....IF I am at one doctor's care for a long time and, that MD prescribed certain medications that I have been on for a while.....the new MD should honor that plan of treatment, at least until they can figure me out.
LE--HUGS to you. Yes, you are absolutely correct by the way. If son moves out and is being responsible enough to handle that part of his life------son can find a way to work. Last I checked...you have said nothing of owning a taxi service. I hope you work the kinks out of your body quickly from the pull out couch....Lord knows I would not have made it on something like that.
ME>>>>Alive. Doing pretty decent actually. I have not done anything which is why I feel ok...just as mike and a few others have mentioned. I hate it!! I want to feel decent because I was moving around---not because I was lying in bed like a corpse!
The family (kids and mom) were off yesterday and, so that was nice. My mom did a lot before I was even up yesterday. I layed awake, listening to her work. I did not move one muscle but, I made fabulous breakfast of crepes with fresh fruit; sliced oranges; bacon, eggs and coffee. MMMMM
HUGS and LOVEs to you all!
I have to do short and sweet ..... I hope (know) everyone understands why I don't come to this one much.
I had some blood work done and hopefully find out something wed. when I go but will post on a separate thread. If anyone needs to tell me anything please message or something but I don't get email alerts so I never know what is going on. Hugs
I'm still here. I've been a bit overwhelmed with work, but it's going good. I miss all ya'll on a daily basis.
My DS account is all messed up. I am not receiving any notification about threads, hugs, messages.......nothing. I've sent two messages to DS but they haven't responded. My guess is they're not getting them. I'm going to try to message one of the CL's or something, but I hate it. I feel so disconnected.
I think of everyone every day and I WILL get this straight.
I don't even know if anyone is getting my hugs or messages.
Oh well, the main thing is that I am here, and I hold you all close to my heart.
Big Hugs,
David.
Well...after standing, bending over a sink, raising my arms to cut and style hair, my meds wore off just as the last client was almost done. I was smiling and wishing she'd stop the chit chat and just head out the door when her hair was done. Normally I wouldn't mind and I do enjoy all my 'regulars', but today...not so much. The pain hit with a vengeance. My whole back, neck, shoulder. legs and hands are a mess. So I'm sitting here with a cup of coffee, my Chihuahua on my lap and wating for meds to kick in. Sometimes, when it gets this bad, my day is shot.
I promised to make Shepherd's Pie for my roomie and his boys for dinner tonight. It's only 1:00 so I have time to recover...I hope...I hope...
Hugs to all and wishes for some joyful times over the weekend,
Cherry
I couldn't get to sleep right away last night and was up until 3. Then I slept till 9 and was 4 hours late with my meds...OUCH! Felt pretty lousy this morning. I'm doing so so right now but we're going to town soon for the evening and I'm sure it will were me out.
It's a nice day here except for the wind, it's really blowing good today. I've been looking forward to going out and eating tonight so I hope I hold up good.
Have a great Saturday,
Mike
Just a brief GO DUCKS to anyone interested, lol.
Will try to post after the game.
Melinda
Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Big gentle hugs to all,
Lisa
I cleaned up some and went to the craft store and took a 2 and half hour nap and when I got up my SIL called saying FIL was going to hospital because he had a blood clot so hubby went and I stayed home as my teenage son and a couple of friends over. He is home but they have to give him Shot in his stomach every 12 hours.
The day seemed like it flew by as always did not got everything I wanted done and I guess if I ever did I would not know what to do with myself.
Now my feet and back are killing me and took a muscle relaxer and it seems to be working a little at least my back as I think my feet is something totally different my foot doctor appt will not be here soon enough and at least it is still painful so it will not be one of those visits where the pain is already gone.
