It was obvious, from the first appt., that she had no clue about treating the kind of intractable pain I have. The first thing she did was take away my er med. I have no idea what to expect, but it has to be better than the NP who has treated me like a drug seeker instead of getting to know me or actually reading my records!
I've been dealing with some very upsetting news since Monday afternoon. It doesn't have to do with me directly. I may feel able to post about it later.
I wish you all a gentle day,
Cherry
Unfortunately, I started feeling worse when I got home. Ended up in bed all the rest of the day and night. My tummy is still rocky this morning so I'll probably take it easy today.
My sis did show up the other day (she was supposed to help me w/ some cleaning projects) but could not stay because the heat and air man was supposed to work on her unit. It always seems to be something. LOL Promised to come back Friday but we'll see. Meanwhile, I plug on!! The change in the weather is really taking a toll on my body but I know I'm not alone. I have a love/hate relationship w/ Fall:>}
Wishing a good day for all!!
Manny- Here is my advice (not that you asked but, I will give freely anyway) DON"T DO CRAP!!!! NO ONE GETS SH*T! There is no one who gets driven to a midnight release and treated to a video game, no one gets to have friends over to spend the night, no one gets clean clothes or a hot dinner. NO ONE GETS NOTHING!!! YOU do for YOU only!!! Go on strike and stick to it. Get take out chinese, sit in your bed after a hot bath and eat out of the carton. Take out your own dishes and wash your own clothese. If they can't help, WITHOUT ASKING even....they get nothing. Tough love my friend. You deserve to be treated like a queen and, you NEED to be treated with care just because you're their mom/wife and you have CP.
Cherry-I'm glad that you are going back to your old doc. I realize that the farther drive is a pain in the butt but, the NP has been a nightmare since day one for you. You deserve to have consistent treatment that is beneficial for you and not for her own needs.
LE--I want to go escape for a few days to the coast!!! I wish I knew someone who had a little condo or something. To sit, listen to the waves, sleep in the sea air....heavanly! I hope you have a great time with your friend in Redmond.
Nealytee---I am so glad that you are volunteering! I cannot wait to start mine once that ramp gets built. I think it will be so good for me and, more importantly, I want to help others. I am sorry that you are so sore though...I think your body is on revolt for all the crap that you have had to go through these many months between Tx; insurance; family; homestead etc. HUGS and super feather kisses to you!
If I have forgot to list someone specific here....please forgive me. i will check back and try to right any forgotten posts. I hope each of you reading this is blessed with hard belly laughter; love from friends and family; Joy from friendship and of course...as less pain as possible.
ME>>>I way overdid it yesterday and I am definately paying for it today. I feel like I have been hit by a truck, literally. Every muscle, tendon, ligament and joint are screaming at me.
My little duck is also in a lot of pain...she has done something to her back and is laid up next to me in my mom's bed. I took her in to the urgent care and they said she sprained her back muscles. I KNOW what she is going through and it is breaking my heart. She is in spasm and has sciatica over the right butt cheek. Poor baby---she just goes through such trials. I am praying that she does not have the beginnings of what I have.
The dogs are curled up in my bed with me, little duck is snoring next to me, the rain is falling outside and it smells sweet. My son has started the pre-season of wrestling and he is coming home everyday beat up from practice---he loves it! My mom is off to Salem for a training today and won't be home until later. TODAY WILL BE QUIET, QUIET, QUIET. I am so happy with that.
HUGs to you all my friend and much support/love.
Happy Wednesday! Just wanted to say hello before taking off to Central Oregon. Thinking of you all and remembering you in my prayers. Will check in Friday.
Big gentle hugs to all,
Melinda
The last time what I took was like a power shot and when the procedure was over I was able to go right out and eat something. Not the case this time. They gave me something called moviprep, I had to mix up a couple of liters of this awful stuff and drink it. It did the job but I woke up feeling horrible this morning. I had real bad stomach cramps and I couldn't drink anything or take my pills this morning. I hadn't had my pain meds since yesterday afternoon and I was sick, hurting, and going from sweating hot to freezing cold.
When I got there I was begging them to knock me out because I was feeling worse than I can ever remember feeling. I'm sure if anything was in my belly I would have lost it, I was dry heaving and sweating and my pain was off the charts.
The antistetic knocked me right out and when I woke up I was still cramping and feeling like I could spew. I was too sick to eat and my dad took me straight home, about an hour drive that was miserable. I tried to take my pain meds but lost them on the drive home. I couldn't even hold a sip of water down.
They told me a lot of people were complaining about the same things I was so you'd think they'd use something different.
When I woke up the doc said everything looked good and that I didn't have to come back for 5 years. That was a relief and hopefully by next time they'll have something different to use.
My wife was off today and spent the day taking care of me and cleaning up after me. She called the doctors office and told them what was going on and then had to go after some anti nausia meds. They said if I wasn't able to keep anything down that she was to take me to the ER.
Thankfully that didn't happen and the cramping and nausia stopped around 4 this afternoon and I was finally able to eat.
I still feel queezy but it's time for another pill so hopefully that will help.
All in all, a totally miserable experience.
I'm still a little off, I'll try to check back later and catch up if I can't sleep tonight. Maybe my head will be twisted on straight by then.
Hope you're all well,
Mike
My five year old niece cracked me up today, first I have to say her mother has a potty mouth so anyways I was getting her ready for bed and she had to pick out a movie and she was taking forever to pick one out and I said hurry up and she said " Stop or I am going to kick your Ass" I did not laugh in front of her (wanted to) and she turned around and knew it slipped out and it was bad and got that embarrassed look about her.
Went to the inlaws today they were having someone come over to do one of those pre funeral things were you pick out what you want for your funeral and pre pay it and stuff like that. Sort of morbid but it has to be done and they wanted us there so we could be a second set of ears and they did not want to feel pressure in signing something. Funerals are expensive and they get the free cemetery plots for veterans and I dont know how much it would be without having that as it was expensive as it was.
I brought over a couple pans of pasta and a cake for dessert and it was a good night.
During the day was ruff as I had to get the stuff ready to take over there and after I was done with that I laid down till we had to go. This day sure did fly by everything I had to do at home I did not get to. But I am on strike anyways so I should not be doing it anyways.
Hope everyone has a good one, see ya tomorrow.

I give thanks for the upbeat thread about Christmas, the great survival ideas, recipes for chicken and soup ect. That really lifted my spirit to find that thread today....thanks x
Manny I agree with Duckie about going on strike. They need to realize how much you do for them. You deserve to have their help, stick to your guns.
Mike, so sorry your procedure had you feeling so horrible. Glad you are doing better but still get lots of rest and take your time to recover, that's an awful experience.
Myshoes, hope the side effects wear off soon. That anxiousness doesn't help with sleep either, I went through that a while back. Take care and if it doesn't wear off soon be sure to talk to your doc again, it might not be the right med for you.
SuperDuck, sorry to hear little duck is in pain, what a shame. Shes lucky to have you who understands pain to support her and help her through. I picture such a nice cozy huddle with the two of you and your dogs all piled into bed together. Relax and have a good day.
To everyone I hope you are having a decent day, coping well and finding the support you need and deserve. Big gentle hugs,
Lisa
I have been down, I mean totally down in bed since Tue. afternoon. Must have picked up a little bug or maybe, just maybe, I overdid it the past few weeks, Hehehe. Anyway, sore, joints hurt but do feel better today. Time to move around again but maybe not quite as much.
Is cool and cloudy today so an indoor day for sure!!!
Eric is still sick so I kept him home from school again. I'm hoping he'll be able to go back tomorrow, but for today I have my hands full again.
My computer's acting a little funny today, maybe just the site, I see they still haven't fixed all the bugs yet.
I'll try to check in later and maybe it will be working a little better,
Mike
Mike I am glad you slept all night and are feeling some better. I am wondering if you might possibly have Victor's bugs instead of the leftover remnants of the test.
Me I am missing the weather we had two days ago. I have been doing more than normal and not planning on stopping. I am on strike. Forging on so to speak and doing the house things I used to enjoy before pain.
I cooked Chicken, Dumplings, Mashed potatoes and green peas tonight. I have caught up on all my "House" episodes and some others I record with DVR. Soon I will watch my last season DVD of Mad Men so I will be ready when they come back 2012. My ESI didn't work so I am trying to ignore the pain. I pay the price but I am not giving up. I see my doctor on the 14th to discuss any other options.
Feel better DS friends. Wishing you less pain.
Had a decent day yesterday of course I did not get everything -- oh wait anything off my list to do done LOL as it seemed it was one of those days as every time I went to go and do something, something else would come up and I had to go and do that. I did manage to get dinner on the table and a load of dishes and some odd things done and writing that it does not seem like alot when I have all day to do it but when I put that up here I know you all get it and I dont need to explain it. Other people(normals) would be like wow you got two things done all day but you all think dam girl you go.
My feet are not doing so well but at least I know I get to go to the foot doctor on Tuesday and maybe he can help immediately I hate when I go and they say try this which is nothing and I will see you in two weeks I feel like saying just skip that part and get to a cortisone shot or something.
I plan on just to try to keep on going on that dang list I have and see what happens and if it does it does and if it does not it does not but I really want to go up to the Craft store today so I hope to keep my energy up enough to do the fun stuff.
I walked into Target yesterday and got that anxious feeling as they are putting up all the Xmas decorations and while I dont mind the extra stress and work during the holidays I know it is added cost which is hard right now it is hard during a regular months with nothing and every year I say in January I am going to put away money for xmas for next year and I never do and wish I had.
Hope you all have a good one
this has been a busy week. I'm on a roll with sleeping all night though. Having Eric home all week has kept me from my afternoon naps so I've been able to sleep through the night again.
Joy's off today and Eric is still not well enough to go to school but we're all going to go watch Victor march with the band in a Veterans day parade later this morning. That's our only plans so I sould be able to take it easy today.
Overall, except for the day I couldn't take my meds, my pain levels haven't been real bad. Better than usual anyway. Of coarse I haven't really done anything to hurt myself either. Kind of a crappy balance or trade of really. I can either do nothing and not feel bad, or accomplish something and feel like crap. Something I need to learn to live with I guess.
I haven't been able to keep up on here as well this week, I'm sorry I've been so out of touch. I haven't had time to read all the post much less comment on anything. You people are like family to me and I always feel guilty when I loose touch.
Victor had another game last night and was late getting home so we were all dragging pretty bad this morning. I'm still trying to shake off the grogs and wake up.
Yes manny, I'm already having Christmas shoved in my face too. I always tell my wife I don't even want to think about it until after Thanksgiving, but of coarse it never works out that way. We're beyond broke right now and the Christmas anxiety won't do much for my mood I'm sure.
I'm still not quite right from the other day, I must have been real dehidrated because I just keep drinking and I feel like I'm just absorbing it, I've hardly had to pee in awhile now. My stomach feels like it shrank and I haven't been pigging out either. I'm still kind of queezy but that's getting better.
So overall it's been a busy week and I'm worn out but at least I'm sleeping and not hurting too bad, so I guess I'm pretty good.
Hope everyone has a great Veterans day,
Mike
Take care, big hugs,
Lisa
