I'm Laura O. and I'm a compulsive liar. I am trying not to be too hard on myself on my lack of progress for my goal I set for myself for this week of saying no I'm not alright when that's the case. I've caught myself doing this several times this week. Oh well.. there are still several days in the week left and tomorrow is a new day. Looking forward to our meeting tonight and hope to see some new faces! I will be leading with the topic of Consistency (expanded also to Keep Coming Back, and Commitment)!

I can feel myself slipping and need to get back to the basics - taking time each morning to meditate, work the steps and remind myself of the damage my lying and addiction has caused. Still lie-free and want to stay that way.

Monday and it's snowing..... again :-). Lie free and glad, but feeling pretty low today - not sure why, it was a good weekend - maybe it's a resentment hangover? I just need to get centered and get back on board.

sailor69- yeah but when you live in fear and guilt all the time what kind of life is that?
borntorun- hey hang in there. know that you have a lot to offer to people.. how do you center yourself?

alex, i center myself via daily meditation. when i fail to meditate, then i slip.

today is a better day - it will be hectic, but it will be better. i am able to focus and do.

Just checking in with everyone. Day 17 lie free so far! When I first found this support group here I could not even imagine that I would someday be able to say I had gone 17 days in a row without a lie. Thank you all for your support and encouragement. Last week at Celebrate Recovery I heard an interesting quote which was "a half-truth is a full lie". Half truths are my weakness but so far I have been avoiding them pretty well.

Off to Celebrate Recovery group tonight. Just like this group, I am always humbled and encouraged by hearing other people's struggles and successes. It is by sharing our faults, being open and honest with others that we can begin to be honest with ourselves. Together we make each other stronger and keep each other accountable.
