I look through some of these posts and I see themes that seem to be similar to mine. I can't believe that I really didn't think I was a liar until today. Whatever other problems I have in life, I think they stem from this one. I have been lying to the woman I love and myself for years now. I want it to stop.
My goal is to stop lying, but if I slip and lie, I hope that I can post it here and people will hold me accountable for what I've done so I can stop. Just because I lie and get away wit hit doesn't mean that its "ok" to lie.
I know that it is easy to make this claims right away. I hope that I can keep this up on a daily (or almost daily basis) of "checking in".
I ask that the others on the board don't allow me to rationalize what I do and to help me be a better person. I'm not one who normally asks for help (I never ask for help) but I can't bear the thought of losing this woman and I will do whatever it takes to get her back. Ok, I've been rambling. Hope to check in tomorrow!
Today's Monday. I'm here. Gone 8 days now without lying. Phew...
Made some rules for myself on what constitutes a "lie".
a. Anything that I would be ashamed to tell others if I got caught (lying to myself)
b. Outright lie
c. Anything that I would be ashamed to tell the woman I love if she found out.
I think that covers just about all of it. I'm not including "White Lies" because if a girl asks me "do i look fat?" i'm going to say "No!" under all circumstances.
1 day down no lies. Writing this stuff down and keeping myself accountable feels good.
Sideshow - great advice!
