Liars Anonymous Community Group
A support group to provide those with a compulsive addiction to lie a place to share hope, strength and courage with others like them; solve our common problem and help others with a compulsion to lie. We aren't alone!
No lies today either. I feel like it's too little too late though.
I'm afraid my girlfriend is gone. I'm not sure I can win her back this time. She says that she can't be hurt by me anymore, and I understand that.
I don't want to hurt her, and I don't want to do anymore damage to my relationship. Maybe this is better... maybe I can fix myself during this time. I can only hope she's still there in the end.
Today is the end of day 1 for me and I'm eager to get through another week being honest with not only those around me but to myself. Thanks to everyone here - I believe there is strength in numbers. Mike, well done! I'm very glad to hear that you're so determined. Matt, it's never too late to make a difference. You and your partner have 3 wonderful children together, and that's always worth fighting for - they NEED you.
We can be strong together, we have each others support and that's a lot. Be truthful with yourselves first - the rest will come.
Thanks for your support... it really means a lot to me. I've got to get through this. I'm afraid I'll never be able to forgive myself if I've blown my chances at this family. M. has been more forgiving than anyone should ever expect to be.
One thing I found encouraging was in a text to me tonight. She said, more or less, that I knew it was all on the line, and that she recognized there was something seriously wrong in that I continued to lie.
Maybe I'm grasping at straws here, but I feel as if there's a ray of hope in that.
She's not leaving because she doesn't love me, she says it's because she has to protect herself.
I can understand that, but I find it entirely disheartening that the woman I'm in love with feels that she has to protect herself from me.
Rob, congrats on Day 1. We're at about the same level of honesty.
I'm not sure how I should score my goal. I'm certainly at a zero now... I guess I'll give myself a little credit when I'm able to be honest with her about something I might be inclined to lie about.
Thanks again all for your support.
You can do it!
Today marks the end of day 10 for me. No temptations, no urges. I'm also glad, and grateful, for the chance to lend some small measure of support and comfort to others like myself. Peer support is so important. I'm not sure if I'm a good source of advice or not, but I'm happy to share my experiences and insights, whatever they might be. Good night everyone. Stay strong....

I think I did pretty well today. I definitely had an occasion where I was inclined to lie. M. was asking me about a conversation I was having with my students. She asked me what I had told them with respect to my resignation. i did tell them something inappropriate... something that I would normally be inclined to lie about.
I didn't lie.
Things are still tense between us. She's still so angry, and... understandably so. If I can just be good... if I can just give her something to hold on to. I know we can do this.
Thanks again for your support everyone.
Today marks the end of day 12, an even dozen for me. A decen day at work and a nice afternoon with some of the family. Best of all, no urges at all. Hope everyone had a good, positive weekend. Stay strong everyone...
