I'm here again :) Still feeling pretty good but yesterday I had more pain than I've had lately. Not horrendous pain but nagging all day, had to take it easy and lie down alot to rest my back. Guess the meds are good but they aren't 'curing' anything just masking the pain. Today I feel the same nagging pain in my back so hopefully its not a trend. I will exercise and go for a walk late, its sunny here but not too hot.

Got the call yesterday from the spine specialist, I go next Wednesday. Its out of province, a 4 hr drive, so I'm not going to try to do it all in one day (there and back). Bf will drive me and we'll camp outside the city for a couple days. A little vacation just for the two of us, should be fun if the weather cooperates.

Hi everyone. On vacation in the BC Mountains and totally destressing. Staying to eating good food (almost). Listening to body and taking it easy with a good friend that I can say anything too. Miraculously day 2 and no pain! Hot weather, cool pool, lots of flowers.

I read even if I don't post...when I can. Hang in there people. The economy is a mess, programs, doc/med problems, weather emergencies, but we have a place to come together here where we can get understanding...and we all focus on feeling better instead of the stock market :) We can't do much about those problems anyway...we have enough stress/pain it's hard to see beyond our little world. But at least we have each other.

I worked a bit more than I could comfortably handle today, but I have to make a living. I just wanted to lie down and close my eyes this afternoon, but didn't have that luxury. I managed to get through it all, but I can't say I enjoyed it.

Tonight...my neck, shoulders and feet are screaming to be rubbed, but I'm alone. I suppose I could use a hug, too.

Guess I better start training my dogs to be more useful!

Good Morning Everybody,

Rocco and I slept until 8:00!!!!! this morning. My wife was nice enough to let us get some sleep and she got up earlier and made coffee for us and expanded the area for Rocco to roam in the house.

I feel OK this morning. A little sore in my upper spine, but the stabbing, shooting pain has stopped. My PM r/x'd Lidoderm patches, so I'm trying those.

How is everybody else doing this morning?

Glad to hear you are feeling ok David... that really is good news. I've been doing a bit the better the last week... the sun has been shining and the birds have been singing... that's usually enough to brighten me up considerably! Hope everyone else is doing as well as possible... it's the weekend, so try to be kind to yourself everyone.

I know it's Sunday, but with the baby,(Rocco), we had to set the alarm for 5:30. Rocco has been real good sleeping through the night.

Sunday is my favorite day because I go to church. I am fortunate to be a Sunday School leader of ages 18-30. Our group isn't that big, but I get so much enjoyment being a part of their lives. My wife and I also sing in the choir, and I love to sing praises.

I have continued taking my dosage of vicodin and other secondary medication, along with the SCS and my pain levels at times get below 5. Right now probably a 7, but I'll take care of it.

This may sound like a journal entry, but I want everyone to know how I feel, and a little bit about me, and a journal entry doesn't always do that.

How about some more people sharing a little bit about themselves?

I would like to get to know you better, and you can vent some stuff if you need to.

Good morning. My wife's back is now hurting and that creates a problem for us. We have two teenagers with one getting ready to go to college after next year. My wife has always been the rock of our family. Maybe the extra pressure of dealing with my pain situation. I start aqua therapy treatments on Monday. I will let you all know how it goes. Life is sure tough dealing with this chronic pain.

I'm here, Sunday morning, I don't usually get on here much on weekends, I try to take a break from the computer if I'm feeling up to doing other things. Yesterday wasn't that great. Honestly I think its the days where we get heavy rain that I feel the worst for pain, regardless of the medication I'm taking. Last night even 2 hrs after taking my night meds I would still in a fair amount of pain.Once I went to bed I slept alright though so its not toooo bad. I have some pain this morning but just took my meds 1/2 hr ago so still watiing for it to kick in.

David, I used to teach grade 8 kids - it was a tough age and I only lasted 2 years at it (while I had kids that age). I do better with the kindergarten kids as I have a history in daycare work, its more my speed but since I hurt my back I haven't been back to church. Its hard to make myself go now for various reasons. I'm glad you get so much joy from it, I remember that feeling.

good morning all, david sorry to hear your pain levels still get that high. lidoderm patches have really helped me in certain areas. i hope you get some relief from them, too. i bet your a good sunday school leader. i'm sure your passion and love impact a lot of people. i look forward to that, too. getting out for the fellowship and interaction with positive people. i woke several times with pain last night. i hate when it gets into my dreams, but it's getting better. guess all the rain here affects it. or tension from yesterday.
cherry, sorry about your pain, too. my cat loves to knead dough (as i call it) but i can't get her to do my back! i got out for a nice walk yesterday evening, so i tried to soak in the breeze and cooler air. wishing everyone a peaceful, pain-free day. hugs, to all!!

I feel that I am making the most out of everything by doing as much as I can to help others but the whole pain thing gets so old. I take over thirty pills a day just to stay alive and have some type of normal existence. Every person in my church life has betrayed me in ways that I can't even share on here so I suffer from lonliness all of the time. I try to live good Christian life and it is my goal to help everyone but sometimes I still need to vent. There isn't a day that at some point I'm not at a 7 or worse so it is a challenge. The steps I go through to keep my liver going takes me an hour a day. Anyone relate? It is a lot of work to have chronic pain.....
