  My ABF of three years just went on an hourlong rant about how this is the worst his life has ever been and everyone is awful and there's no good in the world. He said he's miserable but there's nothing he can do about it and when I mentioned therapy or rehab he mixed both those ideas. I really feel like I need to leave. I can't take much more of this.   I've been doing a lot of working on myself and focusing on myself and generally trying to avoid my ABF when he's drunk and not react to the really dark or mean things he says sometimes. And generally, things have been going better because of that.   My alcoholic boyfriend's uncle is not doing well and is expected to die within the week. My boyfriend was not close to him but is pretty upset about it because his dad is upset, so a valid reason to be upset.   Does anyone else get terrible anxiety when their AH is on a binge? My boyfriend started drinking as soon as he got up today. I'm trying to do my own thing and not worry about him but I know at some point things will turn south and he'll be very sad or angry and expect me to make him feel better. And then if I do say anything to try to make him feel better it'll just make it worse.   My long term partner doesn't drink every day but he downs a fifth+ every Friday and gets up and starts drinking again immediately on Saturday morning.
