My ABF of three years just went on an hourlong rant about how this is the worst his life has ever been and everyone is awful and there's no good in the world. He said he's miserable but there's nothing he can do about it and when I mentioned therapy or rehab he mixed both those ideas.
I really feel like I need to leave. I can't take much more of this. But tonight he said he hopes a comet hits the earth or he gets killed by a stray bullet, so I'm afraid if I leave that he's going to hurt himself.
Hi Caitface, unfortunately your ABF sounds very munipulative. I know this because my AH is as well. They want an excuse to do all the shady stuff they do, so they place the guilt somewhere else.
I think everyone has to decide for themselves what their breaking point is, but I would advice that you hold him accountable no matter what. He needs to take responsibility for his own actions. You can't do that for him.
We do so much for them already, we can't fix everything. Don't feel guilty about wanting more and hopefully he will give that to you, rather then let you go.

All the best.
