  Just finished reading How You Can Survive When They're Depressed by Anne Sheffield. The book was published in 1998, so information about medications is out of date, though I still found it informative since I didn't know much about it to start with. I mostly enjoyed this book- it certainly checked a lot of boxes for me. There is a lengthy description of what spouses/parents/friends of depressives go through because of the depressive's illness and various strategies to counteract some of those...
