Liars Anonymous Community Group
A support group to provide those with a compulsive addiction to lie a place to share hope, strength and courage with others like them; solve our common problem and help others with a compulsion to lie. We aren't alone!
I’m a little confused. I posted the previous yesterday and don’t see it today on the daily check in page. I wanted to add that I also am dealing with an overeating addiction, wow, so many things. Does anyone read this? I need to find support online as there are no LA meetings in my area.
I also responded to randii telling her I wanted to hear the song but the link didn’t work. Is anybody out there? Maybe I’m not using the right format.
i think that amounts to the same thing, in the end) but it started my tally from scratch.
Right now, I'm hiding out at a buddy's cabin and soaking in my own thoughts, which is getting kinda overwhelming, but I need somehow to come out of this less desperate for my failed/failing relationship so that it won't fuel me to lie or be desperate/pathetic. At the end of this, I need to be calm, cool, and collected, so that I can most effectively discuss the relationship and not lie.
Tough stuff, this is.
My name is D and I am addicted to lying. Are you two the only ones around nowadays-just found this online group today. Feels like I will be talking to myself. Lying is destroying the relationship between me and the best friend I have ever had. Maybe I want that as she makes me question myself and feel the pain and fear that has been my life so far. I want to be so much more alive but that is so fearful to me that I push her away with lies. It is so automatic that it is scary and no one has ever called me on it so I have gotten away with it for my life that it is now ingrained in me and I don't want it anymore.. It is very damaging and so exhausting to me and my friend who I see I am draining so much energy from that she can never fully trust me again. I will start tomorrow-no , now and keep a notebook with me and be honest for one day, then two, then three....one day at a time, right?
Do you believe that I deserve to be happy even after all the lies I've told?
And for those who believe in karma, do you think I won't get what I truly want, as a consequence for the lies Ive told?
I know I lie for various reasons: to not make someone angry by telling them what I think they want to hear (being the good girl), to make myself look better, smarter, not admitting I don't know something, but the little stupid lies, I can not figure out why I tell them except it is such an ingrained habit from childhood.
