Checking in. i believe that doing this daily will keep it in my mind. i don't ever want to realize when it's too late that I've done it again.

Its been so long since I checked in, i am not kicking this problem and now its cost me my marriage and maybe my daughter......i want to die

Checking in for the first time. I hurt my husband because of trivial lies. It's so stupid. I've been in therapy for ages but I never discussed lying with any of my therapists because I am so ashamed and confused by it. My husband is hyper-honest and cannot at all understand why I avoid/evade/lie. I am glad to know that I'm not alone...

40 Days and counting. I still don't have any hope of saving my marriage, bu I'm determined to make sure that I won't be causing more pain because of this.

Hi, my name is Jeff, and I am a liar. I finally realized it and this is the first time I am admitting it. This is a new day and I am excited to finally admit who I am so I can face it.

I am checking in again. I am being quiet and mindful of everything I say. Starting therapy tomorrow and ready to engage with the deep issues behind why I evade, avoid and lie.

Checking in again for today. I'm definitely not gong to let this stuff fade into the background as I have in the past. Daily reminders and examination of my thinking and behavior will be required until I'm sure that the right thing has become habit.

Checking in, day 3. Yesterday, my daughter asked me to get a balloon for her at the store. I didn't want to bother the clerk so I was going to lie and tell her the clerk wasn't there. How messed up is that? A little white lie to be sure but those add up until you don't know what the truth is. I'm committed to the truth now. Totally.

Committed, that's great. if you can catch yourself when you're tempted to lie and than don't, that's great.

I had a great conversation with my partner last night following a great therapy session specifically addressing my evasion & dishonesty. I am grateful that my partner is willing to love me despite this flaw in my character. He is watching me, I can tell and I am all the more committed to be honest with him always.

My wife thinks she hates me. She thinks I'm an uncaring bastard. Who can blame her? She only see the effect of my actions.

Checking in for today. What I'm starting to realize is that whatever the motivation for deception, it's deception nonetheless. While my motivations have always been about fear and selfishness, never malice, the result of the deception seems malicious to my husband. And I need to appreciate that and remember that every day. I commit myself to another honest day. I just wrote a very honest email to a supervisor when in the past I probably would have exaggerated or tweaked details to make the situation more palatable to her or to make myself more like a victim. It felt good to send. Now it's on her but at least she knows exactly where I am and what I need.

hi, I just realized tonight that the root of all my problems are the lies I've woven around myself and become trapped in. I lied to have friends. I made up that my problem with alcohol was bad when really it wasnt. i celebrated one yr in AA sober and clean and just just tonight I smoked weed that I found in a lot. I feel guilty and like such an ill lier. Ill person. i hate myself.

Checking in. I may have destroyed my marriage by destroying my wife's trust in me, but I WILL NOT allow this to hurt anybody I care about ever again

Don't hate yourself, just commit to a new day. I am doing great, so relieved the storm with my husband has passed. Now I just need to keep this resolve top of mind and not get lazy and slip back into old and bad habits.
