Liars Anonymous Community Group
A support group to provide those with a compulsive addiction to lie a place to share hope, strength and courage with others like them; solve our common problem and help others with a compulsion to lie. We aren't alone!
That's of course one of the issues we face. Nobody notices if you stick to your word. If you slip, though, you can count on it being noticed.
Today is my wife's birthday, and I can't even be a part of it because of my history of lying, and my most recent lie of omission, which was the last straw for her.
i suck
Thanks again Committed for the support. I hope your husband is able to be understanding as you learn to handle this problem.
I'm realizing a little more every day. It's hard sometimes not to blame yourself when your world is crumbling around you, especially when someone is trying to make you believe it's all your fault. I'll add more to my journal, since I don't want to make this too long, but I do believe I'm able to recognize the reasons for my lies, and I don know what to do.
i also have come to the realization that I'm not a bad person ( I already knew that), and my situation would be a whole lot different if I had chosen a partner who was more accepting. I'm not saying I didn't have problems being honest at times, and I know this is something that needed to be addressed, It's all part of my working to become the person I want to be, that I can respect., and hopefully others too.
God, why is this so hard. And two stupid lies today. One, I saw my doctor and he asked about my taking Ambien. Instead of just saying I take one every Saturday night so I can get one good night sleep a week I made up some stupid story involving work.
Then I told a friend that Thursday night my wife said she was going to have me served with divorce papers when she really said she was going to file papers. I guess it's small but why didn't I just say what it really was.
The sad part is I don't even realize it until I've already done it.
Well I can just hope tomorrow is a new day.
And yes, my status is still the same, still praying I don't wake up in the morning.
