Good night everyone This is my daily check in on my new shift. I went to church earlier this morning and it was great.. I have decided to give my life to Christ. May 1st 2016 I will be baptized for a new start completely. I have already started my journey to stop lying and my journey to be a better partner for my relationship... This will be the last journey for a completely new ME.. After I get baptized I will no longer associate myself as a Liar b/c that would be the old me and I am not going back to the old ways... I will keep taking steps to better myself an to be happier. I will keep my positive attitude an continue to learn to love ME for who I AM...
My name is Brittany and I am a recovering liar.
Congrats to you Britt, you can do all things through Him. And when you can't, He can, and He will through you.
Despite the strides I'm taking, and the birth of a better me, there is still a lot of hurt, pain and anger in my wife. Any small failing (of any kind, not lies) is seen as an indication that I haven't changed a bit. While it hurts my feelings that she feels that way and says those things, there's nothing I can do but keep moving forward, and accept that I'm human with human frailty. And keep walking my path.
Have a good week everyone.
My name is Brittany this is my daily check in... Today I feel the negative energy strong this morning. I did not lie but I did hide something which is the same as lying.... I am going to confess this as soon as I speak with my boyfriend again... I feel weak right now How do I keep strong?
So days 13 - 16 were lie free and secret free....fat lot of good that is. Sorry for the negativity just don't know how to deal at this point.
It is not negativity it is what happened and how you feel. Just remember that you did nothing wrong you told the truth. It is never ok for someone to another person bad or mean names it is not nice it does not help when we already have self esteem and self worth issues. It seem like it hurt worse from the ones we say we care about.
But you did nothing wrong and you have your proof you are not a liar or any other bad name he stated. You are a great woman that is working to be better and someone would be happy to have the improving you.
Keep up your great work within your self because that is the only person that matters right now.
It it just him then I was in a relationship just like that before I starting the man I am with now. No matter what happened he would always try and blame it on me and make me feel bad / worse about myself. He would call me all types of names and say eveything was my fault even when it came to like things for Christmas or my birthday. "We would have money if I didn't get you this or I did this for you I didn't even want this.. Etc.."
It sucks when you care for someone and they are the main ones hurting you but the difference is you are working to get better and if he does not see that and what's to leave its sad and it sucks and it's going to hurt but let him. When one door closes another one opens. So life will go on and there will be someone who will truly love you no matter what. And when they come along tell them up front that you HAD this problem and you are still working at it everyday and you may slip and fall but you will not stay down not look back. And they can decide if they want to stay or not. That way they can NEVER say you didn't tell them or was hiding it. If they leave they was not for you but if they stay you hold on to that person because they will be by your side and be your strength.
Saw a FB post from one of my favorite Christian authors that said "if the attitudes and actions of another person hurt our heart and rub our soul the wrong way, pray to handle it with the grace and dignity Jesus enables us to have. "And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment." Phil 1:9
Also saw another great one that rang so true:
"Some people have to pretend you're the bad person so they don't feel guilty about the crappy things they did to you. God forbid they be accountable for their own actions."
Pushing through, plugging along...day 17 lie free.
Welcome Kevin, sorry you're here, but this is a great place to start to address your problem.
Kevin, Congratulations on taking this step! One Dayana time. Dig deep at what is causing you not to be comfortable with your true self. What is your motivation for deceiving people?
An in those famous words John "Keep pounding"!
