Liars Anonymous Community Group
A support group to provide those with a compulsive addiction to lie a place to share hope, strength and courage with others like them; solve our common problem and help others with a compulsion to lie. We aren't alone!
Hope everyone is doing well on this Friday and remaining diligent in their efforts to stay lie free.
I hope the weekend was good all around, it's been a couple days but I'm just checking in to say that I made it 48 hours without even being tempted to lie, it was a fairly laid back weekend, so that could of been part of it. But it just felt nice to be able to go through the day and not get that little feeling that makes you want to shy away from the truth.
Counselor/therapy is the way to go, in my opinion. You have absolutely nothing to gain by lying to this person, so first of all, it's good practice to start telling the ugly truth. And in the process, you get help and insight into why you have this problem and how to fix it. That's been my experience so far, anyway.
Keep checking in everyone.
(Sorry, I don't live in LA.)
Its been way too long since I've been on here. Things are going well with my counseling, I've been going once a week. I just got done with today's session. We spent today digging through the little lies and exaggerations I tell on a daily basis, digging through them to find the motivations and what not. Its hard to work though it all, but I am worthy of these challenges.
Things are also improving between me and my Boyfriend. I have been honest with him about everything, and while he can't trust me, because of my lying, he is willing to try. I've made my recovery an open book. He has access to all of my journals, he went to a meeting with my counselor, and I've signed a disclosure agreement, so he can call her anytime to check in with her. We are sleeping in the same bed almost every night, and we even went on a date this weekend!
Have hope, all you new to this struggle. The work is hard, but the outcomes are so worth it.
So, here's to day 0 of honesty.
I will start again tomorrow.
