Liars Anonymous Community Group
A support group to provide those with a compulsive addiction to lie a place to share hope, strength and courage with others like them; solve our common problem and help others with a compulsion to lie. We aren't alone!
Mikeyrg...I like that analogy....thanks for sharing that.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday, I've got a crazy out of routine schedule the next few days, Cheers to everyone staying lie free, and a helping hand to those who are struggling.
I'm really happy for you guys, and all others here, who have managed to "quit cold turkey", and I don't think for a second that it isn't a struggle for you guys too. But I really feel for those of us here who are having some dire trouble. Despite looking in the mirror and not liking what we see, and wanting real change, we (or at least I) fall down almost daily. It's hard being naked in public, you know?
Anyway, I'm John, and I'm a liar. I had secrets I defended to the death, and now that they're gone, rather than feeling unencumbered, sometimes I feel vulnerable.
John, I know that feeling...those lies were used as weapons...and now that you have chose to take that weapon away you feel like you lost a part of yourself...but you are actually gaining a part of yourself back. It is an everyday choice not to return to that lifestyle, as comfortable as it seemed. looking in that mirror is sometimes the toughest thing you can do...and all you can do is take it one moment one day at a time to take back the control that you really want to to have...Lord knows I do.
