My stomach is covered in bruises, and I'm super itchy. My dr. said to be careful and dry off my skin after wiping with alcohol before injecting as it may cause additional irritation.
Kelly - ask all the questions you want! This process is pricey (I pay 100% out of pocket too)
JA - don't beat yourself up about the injections. It's the most troubling part of this process (at first at least). I put off watching the DVD right before I had to do the injection. I never inject in the thigh side I've heard it hurts more.
Laurie - awesome report! Grow eggs, grow!
Counting- its so nice to have friends going through this too. One of my close friends is also dealing with IF. We regularly get coffee to talk. It's been such a big help knowing she understands my point of view.
I did my first shot today. It was a little nerve wracking at first but wasn't really that bad.
Hope everyone has a fantastic Sunday.
As for me, I showed up at the dr's office this morning for my transfer. They walked me back towards my room and the dr stopped me to show my my picture of my embie. I was like where is the other one? There was supposed to be 2 of them. He said that he was sorry but it didn't grow. He reminded me that is only takes 1 but who wouldn't be heart broken. It is a Grade A egg! God I hope it makes it! I just feel that I can't get excited this time around. I feel blah. I now begin my 2ww. I go on the 12th for my 1st prego test.
And now your little one is snuggling in and getting comfy. Take it easy the next few days and let that babe grow! I'll be sending prayers and good vibes your way.
((hugs))
gcin - great to hear that things are falling into place!! I am hoping that I have some great numbers too!
Have my stim start baseline u/s and bloodwork on Friday...definitely nervous about it. Hoping the hormones don't make me crazier than I already am! I am grateful though that this can be done during the summer (at least the first round) so that I know how I react to things! I am a teacher and am not sure how I would be able to handle that PLUS the hormones and emotions of going through this cycle. :-)
You ladies are great!!!
I'm home sick today. I'm on Metformin and for some reason this week its really causing me a lot of nausea. Tried to go to work and had to turn around and come home. UGH!
Had another u/s this morning and everything is looking good. I had a 14, 15, 16.5, 19, 17 and three less then 12. Last ultrsound I have 6 folli's 10 and over. One seems to have disappeared, but I usually end up with about half of what I started with so I'm happy to have only lost one. I think I'm going to definitely have my five folli's for trigger. Big Smile! I'm taking stims again tonight and then trigger on Tuesday. BD'ing Tuesday/Wed/Thursday. Fun times!
I'd write more, but I'm exhausted and not feeling well.
You're all in my thoughts and prayers!
xoxo
GC - glad things are moving forward for you. Don't give up hope on those smaller follies yet; they could surprise you and maybe catch up.
karan - congrats on your first shot.
Lisamarie - sorry to hear there was just one for transfer. I'm with GC though - it just takes one good embryo, so hopefully this is yours and he/she is snuggling in now. Good luck!
Kelly - good luck. I think this is an emotional process even without the hormones. We all have our ups and downs with this process. Good luck for you baseline u/s and starting stims!
As for me, I'm 4 days in the 2ww and time is moving very slowly. I poas on day 2 just because I triggered this time and for once I wanted to see a positive, even though it meant nothing. Usually I start poas every day starting at day 8. Part of me wants to just let it go this time, and try not to test until my beta, which is scheduled for july 13th.
I don't know if I'm capable of not testing though because I'm rather impatient to know... but then testing is always an emotional rollercoaster. Because, first I get hopeful, then Im really down when it's negative, but then then I've tested too early, so the negative means nothing, so then I'm hopeful again and the cycle repeats.
I'm taking prometrium now for luteal phase support and as long as I'm on that, I won't get my period until I stop, so I would actually need a negative beta to stop the prometrium and get AF. The beta is scheduled for 15 days after the IUI, so really quite late, and so I know I'm going to want to test earlier. But... really I'm not sure early testing is a great idea because of all the ups and downs... anyway for today, it's still way too early so this is all just contemplation. I guess I still have a few days to decide before I could even start to poas.
Counting - I waited till my period was due last time to POAS. I wanted to know by myself before being at the mercy of a nurse over the phone. I think you have to wait until at least 9 days post HCG for it to count, but don't quote me on that. I need to verify that.
Karan - you can do it. The first shot is the worst. The last get hard to cause your over it. But the PIO shots are easy, especially if you get your BFP!
Kelly - good luck with starting stims. They've made me tired and a bit dramatic but nothing that I can't handle.
Laurie - hopefully we're trigger buddies. I must admit I'm jealous, you get to have sex, I get surgery! Good luck! I have a feeling the fresh sperm and the great follies will be good luck for you this round.
((hugs)) to all of you!
The nurse sounded confident in having four eggs total! I am so thrilled. My girls really kicked it in gear. I am so happy with my ovaries (lol)!
But, I'm really worried as I have had mega pain in my ribs for the last few days. I can't lie down. My GP said its most likely from the muscles between my ribs being irritated or out from coughing so much the last 6 weeks (ive had the flu) and when I mentioned it to the RE he said he was concerned also and if worse comes to worse i may have to cancel cycle if I don't improve!
Feel kinda annoyed as I brought up how I was feeling with him numerous times before I started and he kept saying oh you should be ok.. and now he is talking about cancelling my cycle!! So I'm off to the osteopath this morning to see if they can hopefully fix me :(
Babysteps - I am sorry that you are not feeling well. I am praying that they don't need to cancel this cycle. As for your pain, I had that from coughing a few years back and when they xrayed it they noticed that I had torn my cartilage away from my breastbone. There wasn't anything they could do but wait for it to heal on its own. Best of luck to you!
As for me, I am doing my best to rest. I did get out of the house today to do a little shopping. That always gets my mind off things. This 2ww is dragging. I can't believe that is has only been 2 days since my transfer. I am hoping that he/she is turning into a blastocyst. I love tracking these baby steps daily. :0)
I am completely new to discussion boards and am in the midst of my first IVF cycle. I'm hoping I'm in the right place for this.
I am on day 7 of stims and seem to have a lack-luster response to my meds. I started with 10 follies and am now down to 5. Two of which are probably too small. That leaves 3. The problem is that one of them is at 13 and growing strong while the other 2 are only at 9. My Dr wants to see me again on Thursday to see if just the one is going to make it or if all 3 are responding. Depending on the results, we continue or he will cancel if only 1 remains.
I feel so disappointed and wonder if anyone out there has been through something similar yet still had success...
lisamarie- I hope that your 2ww goes by fast! I know how it feels to wait for what seems like forever. I try not to do anything that has anything to do with babies! LOL! Usually I call a couple of friends and we go do something or they come over, that usually takes my mind off of it!
I am done with BCP...had my last one on the 1st...now I am waiting for AF to arrive. I made mention to my husband that waiting for AF right now is no different than before, except that I am wanting her to come so that we can get this cycle going and get everything done on time! We are planning on a July 18th ER as we are going out of state on the 19th...so I am praying that this all works out! I definitely feel the bloatedness but no AF yet!
LisaMarie - I am living through your 2WW, I think going out and about will help to get your mind off things (who I am kidding, you will still think about it).
i4birds - welcome! Good luck to you! Glad you joined!
kellyc - isn't it funny how we can't wait to have a period where before we didn't want it to come...
As for me I had a really bad reaction to my meds today. On Lupron but decided to take my new prenatal around 12:30 on an empty stomach and it put my hormones in over drive. I was so sick to my stomach, sweating like crazy..it went away after 20 minutes or so but made me so tired, I took a 3 hour nap and woke up feeling great. Lessoned learned - take prenatal multi at night...and not on an empty stomach. I forget the name of the new vitamins and will post when I get home (currenlty at work still). Great information and I will share it all I learned today.
Tomorrow is the 4th and hoping no reactions...I can deal with hot flashes...just not stomach issues. Praying it was a one time event.
Hugs and well wishes to all!
