Sorry I've been absent. My canceled cycle really derailed me emotionally. I've spent some time thinking and talking to my dr. She told me to start drinking! No joke. She thinks the combo of stress and lupron is suppressing my hormones and therefore my egg production. Whenever AF returns we are going to try a new protocol. Once again I can't wait for AF to return.
If that doesn't work I want to consider adopting an embryo. Its about $6000 and insurance might help, given my medical history. My DH is not into it but my drive to create a family has taken over so much of my life. I wish I knew how to let go of the dream of another child. I truly feel like I'm grieving for a child that I haven't met.
Lisamarie and Laurie - I'm so sorry that this cycle didn't work out for you. We all invest so much $ and emotion. I wish you the best.
I know many of you are still in your 2WW and its not fun. May we all be pregnant soon!
Road and Nae- good luck as you start your cycle! hoping this is the one for you!!
Erin- yay for drinks!:) glad you have a new protocol set in place! good luck!
Kelly- why 2 ER before trying a transfer? you poor thing!
Tomorrow is my second u/s....I'm really hoping the giant follicle was a cyst, but this has happened before and I'm sure its not. The best I can hope for is that the meds are helping the other folli's catch up in time for trigger, which may be this weekend. UGH.
Karen - Good luck at your u/s today.
BabySteps - The cramps could definitely be from the progesterone. Will you take an HPT or wait for beta?
AF - So sorry AF reared her ugly head! I don't know how you do this and go to your job every day....hats off to you for that. Will you make plans to try IVF next?
Nae - I just turned 40, so I really don't have a cycle to spare at this point. I hope all goes well at the RE today!
Road - Why the high protein diet? Is this something the RE recommended? Or just slimming down for summer? I recently lost 30 lbs..the goal being to lose what I'll gain when I'm preggo... Now I just need to get preggo...lol
GCin - Sorry about the BFN today, hopefully you just tested too soon.
Kelly - That is a scary thing to hear! But, its great that your doctor is being proactive and saving embryo's now for the future.
xoxo everyone
Well I just left my ultrasound and the sonographer was amazing. She explained everything. Told me I have 4 fibroids ( i didnt know about) she said it shouldnt be a problem but she will at least let my RE know about them. My left ovary had lots of very small follies she didnt count them right then because there were alot and super small. Which is what my RE wants since ive been on suppression meds for a month. The right ovary was so difficult to see it was way down low and hidden. Trust me the vaginal camera didnt feel great at that angle. She saw a goid amount of small ones there so she was happy. Now I wait for my RE to call with instructions... Hopefully im off birth control and start stims Tuesday.
It is frustrating to some degree being 200 miles from my RE. Doing everything in my city and waiting for a call. I dont get the confort of his reaction of how things look. I wont see him until egg retrieval time. Talking about nerves being bad.
Laurie- I see now why your driving so hard. I hope that large folli is a cyst! Maybe youll have those the other follies jump on board quick. Seems like we are pretty neck and neck. Im praying your body acts right! Am i correct you are doing IUI? Good luck tomorrow with U/S.
Road- wow we are Cycling together pretty much. Thats awesome to have someone that close. Maybe we will get BFP together. Whats up with the high protein?
Ja- you are entitled to hurting. This process isnt easy and to have to listen to other women with their unwanted pregnancys my LORD you are way stonger than I. Just hold on your baby is coming... You just have to hurry up and wait.
Erin- BLESS YOUR HEART- Sad that we spend so much time wanting AF to go away and the second we need her she takes her precious time. Why do you think your DH is against donor embryo?
Maybe it is time to have a glass of wine and a night of dancing. Take the pressure away if only for a moment.
Gc- have you tested?
To all of the 2WWs my sincere prayers are with you.
Now Im about to play the phone game with my Doctor. Pray for me yall
Praying for all, I am at work so I don't have a chance to read everyones update, I will do that tonight. Just wanted to share my news today. Hugs to all! I will post later tonight!
Road - you are so early in the cycle, you can do this! Good luck!
Laurie- good luck on starting a new cycle, may this month be it!
Kelly - good luck on those embies making it to freeze. Two of my three made it this time and it was such a relief. I also have low ovarian reserve so it's now of never to get the eggs out.
Babysteps - it's very early, I hope you get a positive the first time you test. The negative tests are gut wrenching!
Kelly-Congrats on your 4 eggs! You must have a great RE to think of the future so much. That's awesome....though that waiting is probably not so much.
Laurie- What a quick cycle! Talk about sprinting to the finish line. Congrats on losing 30lbs!! What were some of your secrets? I hope you get to start gaining it back soon.
Nae-YAY! Cycle buddy! I can't imagine having to manage your cycle over the phone. I can see why you are frustrated. Hang in there.
Karan- WAY TO GO! Congrats on doubling your follies!
GC-Hang in there. Only 3 more days.
Hoping-YAY! I've found the first two weeks to be exciting and real test of patiance. You will have good days and bad days but try to take it one day at a time. Good Luck!
As far as the high protein diet, it was recommened by my RE. Last cycle I ended up with mild OHSS and retained a lot of fluid. My RE told me that the protein will help with the fluid shift.
Happy Friday everyone!!
I am WAY behind on reading everyone's updates during my 2WW. I was really just trying to stay as busy as possible and not even think about it. I ended up talking my dad, sister, and nephew into a camping trip up the coast of CA with me to pass some time. Boy did I need that! Now I just have to wait until Sunday for my testing appt. I'm too scared to even POAS. Hoping for the best!!!
Now I need to start getting caught up with what all of you have had to say over the last week and a half! Hope it's great news! :)
So AF showed up again in record time. (I had a CD1 only 16 days ago!) So I went in for bloodwork and baseline ultrasound today. Everything seemed ok to me and meds are being shipped to my door this afternoon BUT... the dr just called and they're not letting me start for another month! Apparently the follicle sizes are all over the place because of the recently canceled cycle and they want them all to be small. Now I'm going to have to do this at the beginning of the school year which is a stressful time and going to make people unhappy with me. I don't want to explain why I'm missing work to anyone.
Well, I'm going to drink wine and coffee whenever I want for another month.
