Hi ladies,
This is my first time on DS. I recently finished my first IVF cycle with PGD. I had four embryos but after the PGD it was determined that only one was healthy, a little girl. The waiting has been torture and yesterday we got a BFN. I've been so discouraged.
I have had 6 miscarriages over the past four years and have one beautiful little son who is 2 and half. It seems most likely that I have many eggs with chromosome abnormalities - we knew that was the case for sure with two of the babies.
I will start my second round of IVF in July. Anyone else?
This journey has been so long, and with so much grief. I don't want to do this alone anymore or hide my miscarriages.

Thankfully, cramps have gotten a bit better today...its kind of feels like I pulled a muscle in either my uterus or ovary. So strange!
BabySteps - WhooHoooo!!!! Great Fertilization report!!! Are they planning a three day transfer? Any idea how many you're putting back in?
LisaMarie - Don't let an early test bring down your hopes...they are not as sensitive as a blood test. When is your beta again? And I do know stories of women who got a BFN at home, but a positive beta. Big hug!
Countingdown - 17 is good for this early! You weren't supposed to go until Friday, so if the number doubles as expected you would have had about a 50 for you first beta!
Erin - I hope this isn't too personal, 6 miscarriages is tough...do you mind my asking if any were chemical? Did you ever get a reason for them?? I've had two miscarriages and an ectopic...I know how hard it is to keep going....big hug!
Nae - the 2WW IS torture! But you'll see soon enough, lol. The only way I get through it is to not have any HPT's in the house. Once I break down and buy them, I'll take all the test in a day. I have the same problem with ice cream. LOL
Kelly - I hope the shots went well tonight!
JA - So happy you're feeling good about the IUI! Welcome to the dreaded 2WW, lol
GCin - Two 8 cells are GREAT! as you said earlier, quality, quality,, quality! Let the 2WW begin!
Also not sure on how many they are transferring, but from things I have read Australia prefers to do single embryo transfers, so that is what I am expecting.

He also said there is no difference then doing it on day 2 then day 3.

Babysteps - I agree, its for lower numbers, anything under five is usually a 3 day transfer. My last cycle was a three day - produced my baby girl, and yesterday I had a three day transfer. They are better in mommy than in the lab!
As for me - 2ww stress is here and I am battling it with doing work, planning my daughters b-day party and working on our family tree. I hope this passes quickly!
Countingdown- Congrats!! That is great news. I hope that your beta coming up on Friday will help give you some reassurance.

Lisamarie-It could certainly be that it was still too early to test. Hang in there. I'll be thinking of you Thursday for your Beta.
Laurie-I'm glad your cramping has let up a little. I pray that it's caused by a little embie implanting in there!
Nae-WELCOME!! The waiting sure is the hardest part. I can relate to the "wanting to just start shots already) My RE had me on BCP for 4 months prior to this cycle. I FINALLY start Lupron on Sunday. The TWW is tough but try and find a way to keep your mind occupied and you'll get there.
Kelly- Glad to hear your first shot went well. I too agree with GC on maybe trying the shots yourself. I did my shots in the stomache myself and my DH had to give me the pio. I was always way more anxious with the ones he did. I'm not sure why though. Probably a control thing. LOL. Hang in there. It will get easier with every shot.
GC-Congrats on being in your TWW! It sounds like you are doing a great job of keeping yourself busy.
Can't wait to hear how everyone's week progresses.
Laurie- the 1st and 4th loss were chemical. I lost all of the others between weeks 8 and 12. The most likely reason is a chromosome abnormality with many of my eggs, even though I am chromosomally normal. Baby #4 may have been lost due to a post-D&C uterine infection. Baby #5 had Turner's Syndrome. The only reason we are doing IVF is to do PGD and hopefully avoid more miscarriages again. I just can't bear more losses like that. I do have a beautiful little 2yr old son. And ladies, everything we are enduring is worth it when the love of your life rests their little head on your shoulder. If anyone ever wants to talk about their miscarriages, needs support or prayer, please message me. I have so much compassion for women going through this particular kind of grief.
I am definitely glad that I am not doing this during the school year...I am not sure that I would be that great to work with! My students are super understanding, but they don't deserve these mood swings. I am afraid that they might want me to do another round of ER before they are willing to even schedule a transfer. That would put it right at the beginning of the school year.
Ok, I am done with the pity party! I just am not feeling well, and that usually brings on the negative feelings!
