I have not seen the accupuncturist due to a heavy work schedule but plan on going back soon.
The doxycyclene reared its ugly head this morning.. I didnt eat when I took it and it made me sooo sick. Just a few more days of it and I'll be done with it util after the er.
I will be taking some time off from work and really looking foward to it... I'm tired!!
anyone else taking time off?? Do you plan to do bed rest following transfer? I never have, so I just might this time.
Looking foward to your posts soon!
My RE says no bed rest after transfer because they want to increase blood flow after the transfer and when on bed rest the blood is not flowing to the uterus as well as if you ar moving around. I layed around a lot for a few days after but I still cooked cleaned and did things just lazier then normal and I didnt lift anything heavy.
Oh and for everyone someone created a board called mommies to be 2010 for everyone doing IVF soon!
got preg on IVF #1 and lost it immediately (less then 2 days after BFP) did FET, got BFP and a blighted ovum at the 1st u/s.
baby dust to all of my dh sisters
2010 is our year!!
I have read and heard so many different protocols about bed rest . I guess it depends on the patient. If your blood flow is a suspected problem then maybe very little bed rest(just take it easy!). I have never bed rested and this is ivf #3. So, this time I thought I might try it. Also, RE recommended lots of time off from work and taking it easy this time.
Still.... it remains a mystery. I wish there was a definitive answer on this... or maybe I should just get out my crystal ball.. lol.
babydust to all
I am in Day 3 of my first IVF protocol. I'm on injections and chlomid right now and anticipating a january 13 or 14 egg rettrieval date. i've also decided to add accupuncture to my schedule so i can feel like i am trying everything possible.
Can I ask those of you who are further along than me or who have done this before, how much time should I take off of work for the retrieval and the transfer? After the transfer, did anyone take off work or do most people go back to work a day or two later?
I would love some support for this, after going through so many IUI's and other meds this is a new scary step for us so we aren't sure what it will be like.

I understand that every clinic is different I did have a mock tranfer but not all clinics require this test. Honestly I rather cover all my bases. I would ask for one.
Every RE is different on work/bed rest and such. My protocol for ivf #1 was: off the day of retrieval and the day after. then off the day of transfer and the next 2 days. I actually took off 2 wks IVF #1. I didnt take off alot of time with IVF #2, just the required time for transfer and retrieval. This time I am taking off 3 weeks total. If you can, take a little time off especially around the time of transfer, if your RE recommends.
I'm sending baby dust your way!!!
So where is everyone????
marcesquo: good luck on the stims!!
question for all: are any of you going to take menopur injection? if so, when in your cycle are you taking it??
I havent been back to accupuncurist. I havent had time. I am going possibly wed or thurs and then again the day before transfer or day after... any thoughts on when to see accupuncurist around transfer time?
thanks ladies!!
so... here we go!!!!! I'm excited!!
kldavis~ I go in tomorrow actually. I am a little nervous now though because my AF seemed to stop... I was spotting 3 days and then had a light flow yesterday am when I called the RE and I just figured it would get heavier as the day went on and it never did... b/w may not be good for stimming on Sunday.
So with the menopur I am using it the same way as I did on my first cycle. One vial every night and also the Follistim. The thing with the menopur is it stings when going in. Especially if you do the injection right after drawing it up. So let the menopur sit in the syringe for about 5 minutes before injecting. I learned it def helped a little.
Last time around I also did Laser accu. Only on transfer day 20 minutes before and after transfer. Not too sure if im doing it again...
