Aus- I am so so sorry girl. ((Big hugs)) to you and DH and I hope your treating yourself well.
I had my FET yesterday (finally). I had 2 embryos thaw very well. The quality decreased some with the thaw but my RE didn't seem concerned. I'm trying my best to relax...but...we just had ghe biggest snow storm in 30 years in Dallas and we have no power. We are camped out in a hotel and go home every few hours to check on things. This would be a great story to tell a little one :).
Hang in there everyone!
Molly: Thanks so much for the DHEA tip. I had been reading about it on another board for CGH testing. Couldn't hurt I guess... Also, was wondering what else I could do to gear up for another cycle. Even though we dont know how we are going to afford it... but who waits til they can afford them, right? Oh how I envy the fertile myrtils!! lol. I have heard about fertilty superfoods such as MACA. I am also struggling with deciding where to go for treatment. We are willing to travel too. Thats the fun part!!
Fingrs: I am soo excited for you. Are you doing full on bedrest?? did you transfer 3-day or blasts?
Marcela: when are you doing your frozen cycle? I would love to talk to ya about your clinic. Anything you want to share would be great! We are looking into Shady Grove or SIRM.
In the mean time, I have had some weird nausea, cramping, and dizziness. Its all of the symptoms I wish I would have gotten during my 2ww ...if it would have been posiitve, that is. Anybody with a BFN experience this?
Well, happy valentines day to all!!
After much consideration, my DH and I have decided to continue TTC. I spoke with a friend in town and was surprised to find out that she too went through several rounds of IVF before having their first baby. She said the thing that pushed them over to success was undergoing acupuncture sessions specially designed to prep the body for a successful IVF:
* Improve blood flow to the uterus and ovaries to improve receptivity to stimulation
* Thicken uterine lining to encourage implantation
* Decrease uterine cramping to encourage implantation and reduce miscarriage
* Decrease cortisol and reduce stress levels to improve LH and progesterone production
I didn't even know this type of thing existed....but I had read some of your suggestions and that's how I happened on this info with my friend.
I know some of you are preparing for another round of IVF so I wanted to share this info from the local acupuncture clinic in my hometown, Austin: http://texasfertilityacupuncture.com/services/detail/ivf_iui_services/
Maybe you all have a local clinic that does similar practices. But from the success stats (http://texasfertilityacupuncture.com/hope_and_inspiration/stats/) they post, which included my girl friend's success....I am so inspired to try it. In fact, we've booked an appt for this friday to learn more.
Sorry for long posting, but I was so excited about this finding that I wanted to share with you all and maybe see if any of you have undergone something similar. Let me know if you have any questions you'd like me to ask at my session this friday...I'm happy to get some answers when possible.
Yesterday was Chinese New Year. I hope you all the very best for our 2010 dreams and wishes to come true.
Marcela: When are you going to begin your frozen cycle? I will probably begin my stims around the end of March. Now I am just trying to rest, relax and prep my body as much as possible.
Aus2010: Thank you for the tips on acupuncture. I am going to look into finding a new place that specifically deals with fertility etc. I think it can really help. I am happy that you are going to keep trying. We need to stay positive.
KLdavis: I am also happy to hear you are planning to do another cycle. I hear you on not knowing how we are going to afford it - I guess we will have to get creative :-) Keep me posted.
Angie: What a small world! Dr. Gulati was also my doctor! So crazy. She is great. I switched doctors b/c I am always in the Morristown office so it didn't make sense to have a doct. in a different office. Congratulations on your success! PLEASE keep us posted.
Fingers: How is the 2 WW going? I am crossing my fingers for you!!!
Good Luck Ladies!
Angie- So happy things are going well. Keep up those fatty foods and nourish the little one.
The is my 4th 2ww (2 IUIs and 1 fresh IVF and now FET) and it hasn't gotten any easier. My PG test is on Sunday which seems light years away. I started having back cramps today which is my hint that AF is coming to town. I am really hoping it is nothing...or something I should say. I know you have all been here very recently and understand the 2 week turmoil. I am really trying to stay positive and not release negative vibes.
Kldavis- I hope your feeling better. Google "Wayward Stork Fertility Foods" there is a bunch of good info on there! I will def find out the sex this time. if we have a girl I have to have girlie things. With a boy neutral is ok I think. If I'm lucky enough to have a second (and First) healthy pregnancy then I will leave that one for a surprise I think since ill have baby stuff already.
Aus- so glad to see you have a game plan!
Molly- wow it really is a small world! How are you doing?
Sooooo I went in for my u/s today and we have TWINS!!!!! Its still super early. Only 5w2d but we saw 2 sacs and 2 yolk sacs! So excited and nervous and cautiously hopeful!
I have cramps off and on. Sometimes I question what I am feeling. I am just in that 2ww nerve-fest. Against my better judgment, I will probably take a home PG test in the morning. My beta is on Sunday.
Hope everyone has a relaxing weekend!
Fingers: Try not to let the 2WW get you too crazed - I let it completely consume me which didn't help. Good luck and keep us posted.
MBaby: Best of luck with your retrieval. The retrieval is really easy and painless. You will be great. I was on the same meds as you for my 1st cycle. Keep us posted.
Good Luck Ladies!!!!
Fingerscross: I know the 2ww is hard but you are getting there and I'm keeping my fingers cross for you!!
Molly,
I think I will start BCP in about 3 weeks I should have my FET in mid April. Does anyone know I have to take BCP for a FET?
AUS2010: Thank you for all the good advise I've decided to do acupunture for my FET. I feel that I need to do something to improve my chances.
mikeorbaby: Best of luck your your retrival, I hope you get lots of good eggs!!
