Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Thank you for your post. I, along with others, have had days where waking up, knowing that there wasn't a whole lotta good going on was tough. If you once had hope you can have it back. The people who are here are so awesome and understanding that the are life changers. Tell your doctors that what they are doing is not working. Look them in the eye and be honest with them and they should help you.
My profile is open and if you ever want to talk, feel free.
Hang in there.

Great minds think alike. Do you a pain management doctor?
Here's a soft virtual hug so it will not hurt that much. No one should hate waking up and I am so sorry you are going through such a hard time. I had a time like that not to long ago when my doctor was trying to get the right med for me and I remember that feeling so well. I made a doctor appt the next day and went in and said we need to do something about this, I know it is hard but sometimes we just have to put our foot down or move on and put it up some other doctors behind.
You deserve a quality of life and please I know it is hard but dont give up just get mad and determined to get to where you want to be in your life. Tell yourself I am going to spend the next month trying as hard as I can to find that one doctor to listen and be a bit aggressive to get to that goal.
Let us know if there is anything we can do for you.
That goes for Corri too... why on earth do the stupid docs not realise you have a condition that requires pain meds! Don't give up... keep hunting for a doc who has the compassion to treat you adequately... you deserve a quality of life too!!
Evasthoughts I am sorry for how you are feeling. Is your pain stopping you from sleeping? It sucks when that happens cause it usually sets up an unpleasant cycle of not enough sleep making the pain worse, as well as hindering your ability to cope with the pain. I hope you will feel better really soon.
I'm heading up to my son's for the weekend, so won't be online for the next couple of days. Wishing everyone a good weekend filled with sunshine and laughter... and with minimal pain.
Take care all... hugs... Gaye... xxx
It's wonderful to see everyone here. I was almost able to get out of the bed myself this morning. I probably could have, but my wife would have yelled at me.
The SCS is working good. I figure after a couple of more weeks of doing what the doctors say it should be good and healed enough to focus on my goal of lowering my hydrocodone.
I am getting out of the house today to get a haircut and run some errands. I feel pretty good.
I hope we get some more people posting here. this thread has really helped me.
Signing off. I'll be back later.
David.
I'm seeing a pain mgmt doc; he's an anesthesiologist; he gave me a cortisone shot in my sacroiliac joint; so far it's working....he said he WILL "possibly" rx 5mg oxycodone for 2 x a day...next visit. He's a compassionate guy, so I think he might.
He also said, "Neurontin, pbsssst" (raspberries sound)
He may also rx ultra sound and massage for my neck...that's GREAT....BUT....with vertigo...I can't drive...(well, I can, but it's not straight, lol)....and it costs $90 to take a cab...hmmmm what to do? what to do?
Does the doctor know it cost so much for you to get to the appt he might have another suggestion and I thought that some city's have some type of transportation to doctors appt and such, might be worth looking into and hopefully your doctor can get you to another doctor for the massage somewhere closer to you.
He might think that you get a ride from someone. I hate when doctors say next appt we will do this and that and they dont realize that that month sucks while we have to wait for our next appt. Why not just RX it and say if you need it take it and that way people do not suffer.
