Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
SG....I've been feeling the same way lately....it ain't fun!
Manny and David...I thought I was the only one who tried to get out of stuff! I'm supposed to be getting together with some long-time girlfriends tomorrow to go see "Menopause the Musical," then we were going to spend the night at a local suite and have like a slumber party. Well, the thought of all that is too much for me this week. So I'm doing lunch, then the play, and not the spend the night thing. I just can't handle all that. I hate having to explain why I can't do it. Nobody gets it...oh well.
How about a new picture of the baby?
He must have grown a little by now!
Thanks
Bunny
Glad to see you back Sarge.
Lizzy, Sometimes it's hard to do the things we want, and other than people close to you it's hard for them to know how much pain you are really experiencing. Just do what you can and don't hurt yourself. I have been known to do things I shouldn't, but my wife helps me remember. If she's not around then the pain reminds me not to be so stubborn. I'm glad you posted and come back. There are so many good people that can give and get great support.
Bunny,
My new avatar is Rocco posing for the puppy calender. He weighed 1.1 pounds Thursday at the vet. He said Rocco looks and sounds good.
Let's see some more posts !!
David.
Rocco looks like a toy! I thought my Chihuahua was small at 6lbs....of course he's 8 years old! He was rescued from a terrible life in puppy mill and the shelter (they know me too well) asked if I would take him.
He is the most amazingly loving little dog and immediately became my shadow. It's like he's trying to make up for years of neglect. My other two welcomed him into the pack...and we all lived happily ever after.
My town was humming with activity today. Every Summer we have the Stars and Stripes parade, vendors and music in the park. After doing hair for an hour and 45 minutes this morning, I barely made it the few steps down my street to watch the parade. I left before it was over and by the time I had rested enough to walk to the park, everything was being packed up.
I'm feeling a little depressed about my life...no, a lot depressed!
Hugs to all,
Cherry
Thanks for the pict.
I've been up since 3:00 am...again. With all the channels I get, you'd think I would find something better than the Weather Channel to watch! I suppose it makes good background noise. My street is wonderfully quiet at this hour which is a gift since I live downtown. I could probably do with fewer hours of quiet, though! I'm really going to be screwed up when the time changes!
It's almost still yesterday when I get get up now!
Hugs,
Cherry
Regina and katikam, Hugs to both of you. I know this chronic pain is a taker. Hang on and keep talking to people.
Cherry and Bunny, Thanks for noticing Rocco. He's a handful.
I'm doing OK this morning. I'm going to start getting ready for church. I'll be back on tonight, but I want you all to know, those who are reading this, that you all matter to me. I hope you all have a great day.
How about some more posts. TTYL!!
Hugs,
David.
I'm so happy to hear you say the words that you are doing better even if better is ok.
You matter to us too very much so. I'm so happy you have Rocco; what a sweetheart; he is so cute.
You are right that Chronic Pain is a taker but at some point there is the possibility of a point of acceptance that we can become givers to others in pain by our stories, experiences, & friendship. That is a wonderful turning point for us.
To say that we have pain but won't allow the pain to have us is a huge step that takes time but there is hope.
Hugs to all
Peace and big gentle hugs for all,
Lisa
Hope everyone has a great day and a low pain day
Well we are on the countdown to spring now... only six weeks to go! So I'd better get myself out walking regularly again, so I'm back in shape by spring when I am always inspired to do a looot of walking!
Vicky glad to see you are feeling better... and Lisa I well understand how hard it is to get moving early in the morning because of meds/pain etc but I'm sure you'll get there. Wishing all the best to you and your daughter for the safe arrival of the new member of the family.
Sending gentle hugs and warm smiles to all who need them.
Take care... Gaye... xxx
