Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Experiencing some pretty bad neck/shoulder spasms, but the SCS is working great so far. The surgeon said I could still use my TENS unit with the SCS so if my spine feels decent tomorrow I'll give it a try. I have an NMS+ unit, which is helpful for the spasms.
Had a great Sunday. Church was great. My wife and I came home for lunch because the wait at the restaurant was long and good thing, Rocco tipped over his water in his crate (condo). He has been great to have, but a lot of work. Well worth it.
I want to say that DS is one of the best things that has happened to me since the accident and I encourage others to open up a little. It may be helpful. You guys and gals are great!!!
Good Night,
David.
I'm going t give it one more shot nd see if my script from last Monday went through. If not...I'm driving to my clinic (half hour) and getting a paper script for something that WILL go through my insurance!
Got my weekly appt. with my wonderful therapist this afternoon and other than that, I'm going to try to take my day slowly....no added stress, please!
Wishing you all a joyful day,
Cherry
Rocco had a rough night. He pooped in his pen and thought he was Picasso, and started painting with his poop. What a scene............
I feel Blessed today to have such good people in my life. How about a couple of lookers coming on today, just to say hey.........no pressure, you don't have to, but until I opened up a little bit I wasn't allowing myself to be loved. My profile is open if you want to message me.
I'll be back in a while.
Have a great day,
David.
We must have been typing at the same time. Let us know how your session goes, if you would like to.
Have a Blessed day,
David.
I feel so selfish lately wrapped up in my own sorrow with this Graves disease dx. I'm so angry. Migraine today. I screamed on the way to work. So much anxiety from the disease. I want to be the helper not the basket case.
Wednesday I get the radiation tests to see what caused it and how bad it is and thursday I will finally get medication so I can stop shaking and sleep. I know I will get through this, but it's hard. I know this is the chronic pain site and graves isn't pain, but I need you guys to talk to like this.
love ya, Angela
My daughter had a baby boy this morning - healthy 6lbs 12 oz, 18" long. Both are doing well... me not so much. I spent from 6:30 am till almost 3:30 at the hospital and most of that time I was standing. I sat a few times but sitting triggers the sciatic pain so I prefer to stand and walk around. The afternoon was barely bearable and by the time I got to leave I was in tears hobbling to my car. I had to call my dr. because the new pain medication wasn't touching the pain and he didn't give me a clear indication what I could take for breakthrough pain. I talked to the nurse no less than 4 times this afternoon and she is going to work me in to see the dr. tomorrow to change my medication. For today he said to take my percocet every 4-6 hrs. Anxious to see what he suggests tomorrow. For today just laying back relaxing trying to to get some relief.
Hugs and peace to everyone, hope your day is a good one
Lisa
I've been in a flare for a week and called my doctor today to see about increasing my pain meds. I'm going to see him next Mon. He's so wonderful, he called in a prescription for a dose increase! Ok, I think I can make it till next Mon. now.
Our elderly dog does that all the time. I have to soak his feet in Epsom Salts so he does not get a rash between his old pads.
He still looks really cut though.
Angela,
Thanks for sharing how you are feeling. Stand firm and I, along with many more here I'm sure, will stand with you. Let us know what happens Wednesday, meanwhile keep the lines of communication open.
Lisa,
Good for you. You stuck it out and were able to be there for the blessing of a new child. Congratulations.
I hope everyone is doing OK this evening. Let us know.....
David.
I explained to the receptionist that I neded to pick up another scrip for something my insurance WOULD accept since I wasn't given any backup plan and what I had left is running low. I said I'd like to be able to come over early in the day when it's easier to drive...she said someone would call.
HA...why do I ever believe that??? I'm not sure what her plan is for me, but I'm looking for a new PCP immediately. She's made me feel like I'm at the very bottom of her priority list. So that leads to stress, depression, self doubt and, you guessed it, more pain.
The only time I don't feel pain is when I'm sleeping so I think I'll take my Trazodone and go to sleep a little early tonight...hopefully.
I'm sorry to complain, but I'm frustrated with doctors and exhausted from the hopeless battle. It's wearing me out.
I wish you all painless slumber tonight,
Cherry
