About Me
I am a several time returning member. I have been active and dormant several times over the last decade or so, but I always seem to find my way back to this wonderful site. This site had a major impact on my healing and my process of therapy that I needed in order to heal. It was such a comfort to come on this site and know that I had others who were with me and there to support me and to know that I was not alone in my process. I will spare everyone my history as it is a long story. As for my reasons for being on this site; I have moderate to severe Bipolar 1 disorder, PTSD, I am a survivor of rape and incest, and I have a moderate to severe social anxiety diagnosis. I am also the proud mother of 8 angel babies, one step son, and one rainbow baby. I am an individual who copes through her disorders with life management skills, coping habits, and the proper use of routine. I am not able to take mood stabilizers as they have always had really bad and negative affects on my body and mind which have resulted in actually making my conditions worse when I take them. I have tried many different medications over the course of several years and never had any lasting success. And here in the lovely state of Ohio, it is difficult to be Bipolar and get only anxiety medication, which I would love to have for those intense anxiety moments. Unfortunately the doctors who I have seen for medication options want to push the mood stabilizers even though my medical history shows that I do not do well with them. So I am unmediated, but I still work hard and push forward and use other means to promote stability and a healthy lifestyle. It has been working successfully for the last 7-8 years of my life. This is not to say I am anti-meds by any means. Not being able to take mood stabilizers is not an easy route and it can also be a dangerous route. I will never advise that anyone come off their medications without doctors observation or approval. As this can also be very dangerous. If it is a choice that you make for yourself and follow in a healthy way I will give my full support. But the unmediated route is a difficult one indeed. My personal road has been long and difficult and it has made me a warrior of sorts. I love where my road has lead me. It is a beautiful and happy life that I never would have imagined that I would ever have. It is the life that I deserve that only came to me after I learned to love myself and know my worth. I am well educated on all of my conditions and I am willing to share any wisdom that I may have on the matter. I am also willing to learn from others who are more experienced than myself as I know that I don't know everything and sometimes can come off as a "know it all". Lol. I am here for support for anyone who needs it. And I am not one who is easily triggered or offended, so please feel free to message me about any subject. I hope that my new experience with this site can be one of support, education, and love. Blessed be and may All Be Well.
