  I thought I had it...well, not under total control, but down to one or two a month....and I was working with that. I'd have a seizure, come out of it, say "Ok, that's the day", clear my schedule, go home and go to bed, and the next day I was fine.So throw in menopause, starting with perimenopause almost 12 years ago; increased seizures, indescribable mood swings, and digestive issues, among other menopausal symptoms (see me under "Menopause Groups").Just the other month, it finally occured to...

  Again. The Morning Fight again.The Morning Fight is me waking up between 5 and 6:30 (I don't have to get up until 7)...headache, neckache, often intermittant dizziness, and a strange feeling in my digestion that grabs my emotions and twists really  hard. I do Mindful Meditation to try and calm the anxiety and stave off the sadness; once in a while, it works, oftentimes, it doesn't. I usually end up getting up early and writing in my journal.The next step is to try and not get sad and anxious...

  It's particularly difficult for us moms since we have to take care of someone else while trying to deal with what's happening with us. Keep in touch, and remember: it's not your fault, and also that it's OK to not be uberMom.

  A quick history: brain trauma at 21 resulting in epilepsy; accepted and dealt with that. Then at 45, menopause hit with everything it could throw at me;  including long, debilitating depression. I finally went on hormone replacement therapy with ok results for 2 years, but recently have had a setback. They raised my HRT but with little result, and I'm now seriously considering anti-depressants.The tricky part is: I can't just stop taking hormones and start taking an anti-depressant. I'd have...

  Hi. I've been on the Menopause support group for a while. After I started taking Hormone Replacement Therapy, all seemed to be fixed, then months later, stuff would go downhill. We've adjusted the hormones twice, but the Depression is the main thing that I'm still dealing with (the overwhelming sadness as opposed to the crazies), which is why I joined this support group as well.I'm considering seeing a psychiatrist who can hopefully prescribe the weakest, most benign dosage level of...
