  Taking a trip overseas in a week and I'm starting to feel some anticipatory anxiety about it. At times I'm excited and looking forward to it and then there are the times that I get nervous and started feeling anxious. I know excited and anxious can be pretty similar and that when taking a big trip like it's normal to feel anxious, especially considering how long it's been since I've traveled overseas.   Just got home last night from a vacation and it was a weird mixed bag that still hasn't quit. It was the first trip my wife and I took without the kids in I don't know how long. We got down there okay, and then my wife got COVID the next day. So, she was stuck in bed for days while I tested negative throughout the week. Then, yesterday as we were getting ready to come home I started feeling not great. Then, last night it hit... Fever, chills, racing mind with fever thoughts. I'll take a test...

  I have posted in quite some time. Things have been going well. Life has not been easy all the time, but I've been coping with it and been doing pretty good. That said, I'm flying across the country by myself tomorrow to visit my aging parents and I'm feeling pretty damn anxious. I'm trying to accept the anxiety for what it is and not to turn it into something bigger. But man, my impulse is to push this discomfort as far away from myself as possible... cancel the trip and stay in my comfort...
