It's another great day in NC. A little cool this morning, but into the 70's today.
I am feeling OK this morning and I hope you all have a great day!!
Hugs,
David.
I am glad that you were able to get back some "normal" sleep time. As for the children, they have an internal sensor that tells them when they don't have to go to school--that changes everything for them. They get up extra early (as you were looking forward to sleeping in); They fight more (as you were looking forward to a peaceful day); They will either eat more (so you constantly have to fulfill needs) OR They hate everything and the day is a fight around meals. Kids are like magnets of Opposites ....whatever you need/want....they are the opposite.
@SadSad
Once I get cold....the ONLY thing I can do is to take a really hot bath. I have to warm up my whole body and reset my internal temperature gage. Then, I can get out and dress warm and be o.k. I am so sorry that you got so cold---that is miserable on the body. I hope you are better today.
@MK
My friend----I know you are in shock right now, I know your world is spinning. Please take the time that you need but, don't lock yourself up. We are here for you. My support and prayers are with you.
@IRocket
Honey...I am so sorry your body has turned into limp noodles. I wish I could give you all new limbs so they would be nicer to you. My love and hugs my friend.
@Nealytee
My friend....You have had a hard few days and, it has had some good points with SIL and whatnot. Now, take your little self and your hubby and your fur babies----curl up in your shack in the sticks with a nice fire and a nice meal----and wrap yourself up with love and joy. Take some time for yourself and your hubby---not even MIL gets to bug you. Love you my friend!
@ all who have not checked in...
Hugs and love to you all---I am here for you and I miss you and support you.

Well, I am not due to chat with anyone this week as I missed mondays' Xat due to illness and yesterdays' Xat because the school called for my little duck as she was having a crisis....which I had to go deal with. We had to do an emergency MH check up yesterday for like 3 hours. Her stress level is too high right now and she hasn't been sleeping in weeks---the combination makes her meltdown into a jumbling mess. Poor baby, she just breaks my heart.
yes, good, so far.
Only slept for a total of 4 hour again but besides being groggy I don't feel to bad. My back's not killing me like it was yesterday after hurting myself. Now, just got to be careful and not do something stupid again.
Not much planned for today, we have a 4H taco feed we're going to tonight but other than that I can do what I please today.
The new med levels are working good as long as I don't do anything. My mood's good and I don't feel bad. I'll try to not screw up a good day again.
Hope you all have a great Saturday,
Mike
Also sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy....especially after a week of dreariness....
And most of all my pain level is down in my back......only thing I can figure out is that physical therapy has really helped. Today it is my neck.....dadgum arthritis. He moves every day, lol. I am thankful there is no tingling or numbness.
My dear friend is coming by to give me a ride in her new car.....so I will close for now. Thinking of you all and thankful that I found you.
Melinda
WHHOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO!!!
Went to the 4H taco feed tonight and came home hurting so I took my meds and promptly passed out. The next thig I knew my wife woke me up shoving the phone in my face and saying her boss wanted to talk with me. I was compleatly medicated and groggy and wondering what the hell was going on.
Her boss said "Mike, I've got 4 tickets, perfered parking, infield passes, to tomorrows Nascar race at Kansas Speedway, if you want them they're yours."
For a moment I thought I was dreaming. "Ahhhh....yes, that is so cool, I'm a big fan and so are the boys. We've never had the money to go, this is a dream come true, thank you!"
I'm still kind of in shock and now I don't know if I can go back to sleep. So we canceled are plans for tomorrow and we're heading to Kansas City in the morning. If the taco feed was enough to make me feel bad then the day at the races should kill me. Oh well, I'll gladly pay, this is an opertunity I just can't pass on. I've always wanted to go and never had the money, now I can take my whole family and enjoy the new experience.
Sure glad I talked to doc into my breakthrough meds, I have a feeling I'll be needing them. The only bad deal is the chance for rain. I'm praying for good weather durring the race. My wife asked if I wanted to take the wheelchair but I don't think I'll go that far. I will take my cane though. I'm so excited, and I know I'll pay in pain, but this will rock!!!!
Hope you all have a great Sunday and if you can say a little prayer for me.
Mike
Gentle hugs and peace,
Lisa
What an awsome experience.
I've been to air shows and concerts but nothing compaires to the loud of a Nascar race. We had great seats in the grandstand just off the start/finish line. Something I'll always remember will be the taste and smell of the exaust and rubber. We all got a little sunburned but we had a wonderful time. Even my youngest that doesn't handle crouds and noise well did great. We put my shooters earphones on him and he did great.
Lots of walking, we didn't take full advantage of our passes, My youngest didn't do well in the infield and we didn't realize until it was too late that we could have gone farther into the infield beyond the pits to where the drivers were. That was the only disapointment, I know my oldest would have loved meeting the drivers.
Bringing my cane was the best move I made, that and the breakthrough meds. I was very thankful for the elevators to the grandstand because my legs were used up fairly quickly.
We had prefured parking which was great going in but not so great trying to leave. Traffic was a nightmare of creeping and stop and go and even when we got to the turnpike out of K.C. we were cought in a traffic nightmare for over an hour and it took over 2 hours to crawl maybe 30 miles. All that sitting in the car didn't do me alot of good and when we finaly got home I was a mess.
I was exausted and went right to sleep but I'm really hurting now and up again at 2:30. Looks like another long night.
Was it worth it???
Yes! I know I'm going to suffer for awhile but my family had a great time and it's something I've always wanted to do with them.
So it was a dream come true, even if I had to wake up in pain.
Mike
Kansas sounds like you and the kids had a great day and it is so important to have those days when we can have them.
Going to the cider mill today so I am going to take it easy this morning dont want to wear myself out before I go and then be miserable. We dont walk the whole trail but just part of it and turn around as that is way to much plus I like to stop and take pictures so if we walked the whole way it would take all day and I am taking a five year old so I can say it is her that cant walk to much and not me LOL
Lisa, I hope your Thanksgiving was special. I love Thanksgiving because it gives me a time to reflect on all the good things I have in my life.
Manny, I still thinking of those apple cider donuts. i know they had them in Massachusetts........dangerously good!!
I am doing OK today. Took yesterday off. I worked until 5:00 AM and then up at 6:30 AM, getting ready for church, but it was a great day.
I did it on the main board, and I'll do it here.
Calling all (lookers). Check-in and join us.
Big Hugs,
David.
I am paying dearly for my trip to thanksgiving dinner yesterday. I was in pain before I left,then an hour in the car didn't help. Got to my sisters in so much pain I actually laid right down on her living room floor when i got there. I struggled through the afternoon, had to get up at least 3 times during the meal as sitting in a chair was killing me then the crowd thinned so I was able to nab a spot on the couch big enough to lie down. Another hour in the car to go home and today I am dying. Last night wasn't good either. There's a fire burning in my lower back that is extending down my right leg and burning in my thigh. Last night I had shooting pain all the way down my leg to my toes so bad I was going crazy. I took all my bt meds, used the pain spray, ice packs, nothing was working. Today I'm doing the same, ice pack first thing this morning which is out of the ordinary for me. I've been in bed or on the couch all day and I don't even feel like eating, I just hurt too much. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
Hugs everyone,
Lisa

Doing pretty good today. The ear infection won't go away in the Left ear. In fact, I am not able to hear at all out of it. Other than that....my little duck is doing better, she seems to be on a downward cycle and coming back to "normal" for her. I still have not heard on her social security case though, last week it was with the writers to get the forms sent out. That is a good thing, that means that a decision has been made, I just don't know what it is yet.
