I might have to join in on the pity party as I am feeling sort of low today as tomorrow I am Re homing my chickens I have had for about 6 months as I can not take care of them anymore it is taking to much out of me and I have other responsibilities around the house and with the kids that I have to reserve that energy for.
It sort of makes me sad to know I cant do everything that I once did and I try to look at the positive in life but it is one of those times where it just smacks me in the face that I have to be careful of what I take on and especially if it is a long term commitment. I guess the good thing Is I know I will never be a animal hoarder as I could never take care of that many animals.
I do have other animals to keep me company I have two dogs and parakeets but they are easier to take care of because they are in the house and dont depend on me for so much. The coop cleaning was hard to do even tho I had my hubby lift it up the little bending I had to do made my back hurt so today is the last day to enjoy with them.
Hope everyone has a good day and a low pain day
@ Manny: so sorry about your chickens. I've wanted to get some for a long time but realistically, I know hubby and I have too much for our very small plates as it is. Instead, I try to keep up with wild bird families as they grow and change throughout the seasons. They give me much pleasure!!
Having a little respite this morning so am going to try to start dinner in the crockpot and shovel a little more clutter around.
Love to you all, Will try to check in later.
Great song cinnamon, i really like it. Thank you
Manny sorry you have to give up the chickens but it will make your life so much easier. Enjoy your other animals. Hugs
Everyone else, I'm sending positive thoughts and gentle hugs to you all whatever your struggle is today.
Lisa
Yes Randy you are correct. His name is Rocco and he is a great dog.
I'm so glad to be a part of this great movement of caring people.
I posted something on the main board, but I'm going to post it here too, for those who don't go there. It's good news....
Well I had "the meeting" today at work. I've pretty much been working
about 3 days a month, enough to keep up with insurance. I met with
the president of our company, the HR person, and the manpower
person, and I came out of that meeting still having a job, in spite of my
permanent restrictions.
They are going to draft a letter stating my position, with the
restrictions, and I will eventually be promoted even further than now,
with an increase in pay. I was shocked.
I am so grateful to have all of my friends here, and I am truly fortunate
that this meeting turned out the way it did. You all are special to me.
Let's keep this thread going. Check in when you can and let us know
what's happening.
Big Hugs,
David.
David, that's great. It couldn't work out any better.
I'm just having a recovery day today. Paying for overdoing it yesterday. Haven't really done much today. Tonight is the fasting for my lab work and physical tomorrow. Nothing to eat after midnight. I hope I can sleep or it's going to be a long night.
I am excited to be seeing the doc tomorrow, I have several things to discuss and hopefully he'll be in the mood to help me out. This last month has just about pushed me over the edge.
Hope your all doing OK,
Mike
My pain and movement seems to be getting worse more and more. I've been at this a long time now and there doesn't seem to be anything to slow it down besides rest. Boring.
I can sure relate to how you all feel. I hope somehow answers will come to lessen our pain and limitations.
David that is fantastic news! I have to say I've never heard of a workers comp case coming out this way. Congrats!
Mike Good luck on your tests tomorrow and your discussion with your dr. Reaching a hand out to help pull you back up over that edge.
Hang in there everyone and many ((((HUGS))))

my car had to go into the shop today. I heard a thump in the back end, (it is a van) when I brake. Had my hubby drive it last night and he said it was unsafe to drive except straight to the shop. I knew that I needed two front tires and an alignment, but the thump was a screw or pin in the back brakes.....so back brakes replaced, two new tires and alignment, cv boot (?) replaced comes to $650-700 that has to go on plastic. Which both or us are sick about..... our cards are getting too close for comfort to the limit.
I went to Bible study with my friend....we are doing the book of Acts....and she was kind enough to help me get my car in and then took me to the back specialist The report of the mri correlates with symptoms presented. There are disc bulges on every disc of the lumbar spine. The ones at L4-5 and l5-S1 are significant; both pressing on the nerve roots. (This is the short version). The PA discussed my options with me and I must say he was much more respectful. Someone talked to him:) He said I could choose conservative treatment and go with another ESI which is what I chose. I do not want surgery at all on my back..only after all conservative options have been exhausted and even then I would have to think about it. He said they would have to fuse l4-5 and L5-S1 together and that most fusions only last ten years or so. Usually I get significant relief from the ESI's for three to four months and that is good enough for me along with occasional lortab.
I am really tired tonight and we are aiming for an early bedtime. It was 11:30 last night and we both had to be up by 5:30 to share the one bathroom of our humble abode.
My son has to have a bladder scope done tomorrow and he is self medicating with alcohol and vicodin that was given to him by another physician. (all my drugs are locked up in a lock box with pic prevention on them. Only my husband has a key to the lock box and then the lock box is locked in a cabinet). Of course an addict will do whatever they need to do but we verify doses each day with each other (kind of how nurses do in the hospital) and so far none of mine are missing. He has gone with one of the friends he doesn't need to be around. We won't give him money. He is always broke. He can have a roof over his head, free food and laundry provisions but that is about all. I told him they will cancel the procedure if they smell alcohol.
My daughter who is bipolar is on a rampage because she is not getting her way with an issue. Please know that I (we) love our kids but are so done with this crap. Sara will not take medication and it is getting to the point that we are going to have to tell her, take the medication or you don't get to live here.
I am so sorry to rant. Prayers for all of you...Dave so glad your review was so positive. Hope everyone hurts less tomorrow. I appreciate being allowed to vent....tomorrow will be better. It is all good or so they say.:))
Melinda
Very Tired this morning and it is probably because I took a couple of Tylenol PM's last night and I took them to late and did not get the eight hours of sleep so this morning it is hard to keep my eyes open but the good news is If I want I can go back to sleep after I take my niece to school
Wish I could sleep in during the week as going back to bed messes up my whole day as I will get up later then I would of if I did not have to wake up in the first place LOL if that makes sense at all, it does in my head.
Just doing the same thing as I do every other day around here.
My feet are killing me this morning and my head wants to explode
Sorry to be a downer...
@ david: I'm so glad things worked out so well for you. I can only imagine how you felt walking into that room.
@Ducky: Oh my saucy friend, I so hope you're starting to feel better. Kidney pain is soooo miserable!!
@ Melinda: So many people struggle w/ their adult children these days. My brother and his wife had struggled w/ some of the same issues w/ their grown kids. Have ended up raising 2 grandchildren w/ no end in sight. Sometimes tough love is the only answer but that's not easy either.
@Cherry: I think abt. you so often, on your feet all day and using your whole body in your work. I hope you have some relief soon!!
Hubby and I are still working on the house a little ea. day. A couple of hours is all we have in us usually and it feels like 2 steps forward, 1 step back. But we try.
Tomorrow I have my blood draw. it will be 2 mo. since Tx. After the trip and giving 12 large vials of blood, I'm usually wiped out for the day. I pray the virus is still not there!!!! Will take abt 10 days for results, of course.
Hope all of you have a decent day and that, at least, one good thing happens to brighten your day.
Had my MRI last night. It was sheer torture.Had to lay on a cold, steel,no padding tube for 1 1/2 hours without moving. Torture!! They had to "peel" me out of there, I was crying so much, sobbing. I had taken 2 Percosets before going in, but nothing helped. I sure hope that is the last one,my spine cannot take much more. I am in bed today, trying to recuperate a little. My Mom is here, but she doesn't understand how I can stay in bed all day. "If you just get up and walk around, the "stiffness" will go away. OMG! I know she means well, but could you quit giving me your "old school" advice and please QUIT cleaning my house. The last thing I want to hear is the vacuum at 7:00 in the morning. I could just scream. Sorry for the rant.
Gentle hugs and love to everyone,
MaryKathryn
It's going to be warm here today and it looks like a good week. Thanks to all who support this group. You are all so important to me.
To all of those here not having the best day, I hope it brightens up.
Big Hugs,
David.
Physical went OK and have to wait a few days for the lab results. Doc set up a butt scope for me on the 18th, yeah! Not!
I finally talked him back into a breakthrough med but he tells me I've topped out and this is it. We'll have to take a different road if this doesn't help. He did say I have an outstanding record of being responsible with my meds and that was why he wasn't affraid to give me more. I think what I've learned from others on this site has been a great help in that department. So I guess my drug record is clean.
Not feeling to great right now, the long drive and all, and I didn't sleep so good. My recliner feels pretty wonderful right now so I think I'll try to squeeze a nap in and check in later.
Mike
@ Ducky , I hope your feeling better and the kids are doing well.
Everyone I hope your days as beautiful as it is here and that your pain levels are down.
@ Mike, I just heard the new where a baby from Kansas City was stole from it's crib . Let's all pray that this baby is safe and returned to it's parent quickly. I don't think I could live don't knowing if my child was in danger and not knowing where they are. While we are praying could you please pray for my friends . Remember I told you of the boating accident. They still have not found their son. Just think about how we would feel if this was one of our children. Thanks for your prayers.
