Checking in. Positive week so far. 4 days strait with no lies. Working on improving my self esteem. Had a moment of clarity over the weekend. I realized that I am a great father and I can Sole-Parent both my boys with out needing my wife around to rely on. Before all this started I was not sure if I could handle being the only care-taker of my kids for days on end. Now I am much more confident in doing this on my own when its my week with the children.

Mostly through day 2. I still have tonight to go through. I don't forsee anything that would cause me to lie but then again I can never be sure.

Hi all! Thanks BTR - a couple things you said in your last two posts have hit home with me. I have never read the Big Book, but the statement about half measures is absolutely true. But it is one thing to recognize the truth and totally another to live it. My life is composed of half measures. So much so that I'm not sure I can identify anything more. One way (I guess) is that if it feels like more than my normal amount of work - it's probably not a half measure. Your comment about being honest with oneself is also spot on. I have a great deal of difficulty deciding what is true for me. I usually rely on others for that. But when I rely on others, it means I'm being reactive and not proactive - and not true to myself. Circular...I know. It makes sense to me, though. Today was a mostly honest day - not my best work. I hope everyone has a fine night, and a truthful day tomorrow.

I suppose that's the nice thing, I am able to reset and start over. So here it is. Ahem... My name is Gabriel and I am a liar. I have been lie free for one day.

Hi my name is Larry and I struggle with lying. Today is day 17 of being honest. Just finished our online meeting where Sailor hosted the topic of Forgiveness. Lots of good material and thoughts were shared on forgiveness. Thanks Sailor! Next week Kenjura has agreed to lead the discussion. Looking forward to it. Love this site and love you guys.

Welcome back Gabriel! Well done Larry, one day at a time my friend. Recovery from lying and any addiction means making amends to those we have harmed. With my wife the conversations are often hurtful reminders of where we have been and it feels like picking off a scab only to find a deeper wound. I take responsibility for this as my lying and addiction are the root causes of the chasm between us. The good news is she is still my partner and willing to work through this. That is she is willing to remain my partner for now, but I accept everything could change in a flash.

Through this group, step work, therapy and a newly resurrected and profound faith in my Higher Power (not, however a religious based figure) I am able to accept the uncertainty of my future.

Happy Friday everyone! My name is Gabriel and this will be day 2! Today is going to be a tough one. I am going to have to put myself right into a situation where I would normally lie. I can do this. I have to do this or I risk losing important relationships.

Thanks for your support BTR. Your story and words are always an inspiration to me that there is hope of getting control of this lying thing and banishing it from my life although it will probably always be a struggle. Just knowing it is possible is giving me hope however.

Day 18 of being honest! I expect to interact with some people tonight which always provides an opportunity to be honest or not but I'm feeling confident in my ability to keep my conversations truthful.

This is Tim and I haven't lied for 5 days. I still have a long way to go to rebuild trust. but I am trying one day at a time. I'm trying to be more open with things - once they are on the table, I no longer have to deal with them alone. And it gives me less incentive to lie to cover my stress, fear, etc.

Working on my steps. Day 9 of being lie free. I'm realizing that forgiving and trusting myself is top priority.
Whether others are on board or not is up to them.
