Liars Anonymous Community Group
A support group to provide those with a compulsive addiction to lie a place to share hope, strength and courage with others like them; solve our common problem and help others with a compulsion to lie. We aren't alone!
Wish I could that yesterday was successful. <Sigh.>
I lied about sticking to my diet (cheated at work), and then lied to my wife when I told her I had not lied to her yesterday.
I lie because I do not want to deal with the emotional pain / anger from my wife when I do not follow through on what I have committed to. I am an extremely internal processor, pretty immature (for someone who's pushing 50), and I remain bitter towards my wife due of how much I have had to sacrifice materially and change emotionally in order to become a man of integrity. My comfort has been rocked, and I don't like it. My lying is vengeance, control.
I also lie about spending money. I do not have a substance abuse problem, nor have I committed adultery.
My higher power is Christ, though I am not proud of how I carry myself. I am intending to go to a Celebrate Recovery meeting this Friday for the first time, and reading about the online discussion via this forum gives me a little hope.
This is my first time attempting something like this, and I would welcome any suggestions on how to really examine and deal with this problem head-on.
I have been working on slowing down and thinking before answering.
Yesterday was a hard but amazing day. I really feel as though I'm understanding the toll
My lying has taken and the reasons why. I'm understanding what she needs
From me and why. I know it sounds silly and I know they are common sense
Things but it never clicked for me.. 12 days lie free...
I found an app for my phone call MST "my spiritual toolkit". Free and helpful.
Wishing all of you a lie free Tuesday.

The knowledge of being lie-free is wonderful and the irony is as you eliminate the lying the rest of your life becomes liberating. Yes, you may lose some friends and loved ones - that is their decision, not yours (yep, plan on giving up the thought of being able to control others) - but you will be on a healthy path.
Happy lie-free Wednesday
I am still dealing with the fallout of my lies. The broken trust, damaged relationships, and pain toward myself and others. I can only assume that those things will get better with time.
Working on taxes right now and it is tough to look back over the year and see the fun things my wife and I did together - the trips, the dinners, the nights out - only to realize it is all over now due to my lying. I will be happy when I am done with taxes so I can focus on the future going forward instead of having to look back at the past. Thanks Uncle Sam :-)
Hope to see/talk to some of you on the online meeting tonight in about 1 hour.

Happy Friday everyone! My name is Gabriel and I am a liar. Things are slowly beginning to fall back into place in my life. The hardest part is that no one is sure if they should believe me when I tell them something. I have a job interview on Monday in a totally new industry and no one is really sure that I'm not lying about it. I don't blame them but it stings a little. I wish I had the magic words to make all the hurt I caused go away but rebuilding trust will have to be a day by day process just like telling the truth.
Let go of the past, focus on now, and worry about tomorrow tomorrow.
