Liars Anonymous Community Group
A support group to provide those with a compulsive addiction to lie a place to share hope, strength and courage with others like them; solve our common problem and help others with a compulsion to lie. We aren't alone!
Looking forward to seeing everyone tonight at the meeting. Have a Lie free Thursday... BTR it will be good to see you!
Welcome Emma to our group. Stay strong - you can do it.
Just had a great online meeting led by pablita2. Thanks. Always encouraging to hear other peoples stories of success and stories of struggles. Together we are stronger than alone. The support and love I have felt from this group has been a great blessing and source of strength in my recovery efforts. Day 22 for me today.
This site and our meetings have been a great aid in helping me reach 136 days of sobriety and lie-free existence. Thank you guys.
Happy Friday
Welcome gwu, Emma, Mike and any other new people lurking. I'm just over a week lie free. It's the second time I've gone this long in a month! I hope to keep it rolling. Entering in to this new commitment to my self and loved ones I had not gone more than 24 hours without lying, perpetuating a lie or omitting. I'm proud of my self and of all you. I thank everybody for being here to keep me accountable and for being here to share our common experiences and habits.

Just checking in, I'm back up to nine days without lying. Hang in there Joe, all you can do is be transparent from here on out and attempt to explain why you haven't been honest. The real reasons.
When things went sideways with my wife (then girlfriend) for the sixth or seventh time over my dishonesty about money, I went so far as to take photographs of checks written to pay bills going into envelopes and envelopes going into the mailbox.
She always told me it wasn't necessary, but I needed to establish trust, and I needed the accountability. In many ways this group provides me with a subtler version of the same accountability.
You can't count on someone who you've hurt by lying offering his/her forgiveness. But you can always try to earn a new place in his/her heart. You can't control her perception of you, but you can influence her perception by acting differently.

Thanks for writing tonight. Yes, I have explained to her why, but she doesn't believe me. The problem is that we live together in her home. She has asked me to stop taking care of her and the house, but it is hard not to come home and not want to mow the lawn, help with dishes, etc. I have read else where to keep doing (with out lying) what you have always done, but at this point she has told me its over.
But what I don't understand, is she sent this link to me via text. What do I make of that? does she still love me? or?
Eric, I wouldn't read more into your GF sending the link than just that, but you can certainly help yourself by coming here every day, reading what has helped others, stop lying, and post your progress. You may wish to consider thanking your GF for sending the link, this is a safe place with good advice.
Hope all you moms have a blessed day!
Eric checking in here again, Still lie free after more than a week.
J467, she isn't going to forgive you (maybe ever) but things can normalize and it'll probably take her a heck of a lot longer than a few days or weeks to get there with you.
When you come clean or when a lie is revealed, you get to feel relief from the burden of secrets kept too long, you unload that burden onto her, then she has to shoulder it. Don't get impatient with her, it can take people some time to come around.
