Liars Anonymous Community Group
A support group to provide those with a compulsive addiction to lie a place to share hope, strength and courage with others like them; solve our common problem and help others with a compulsion to lie. We aren't alone!
TheCalligrapher, do not get discouraged. Like many things in life, the most difficult part is starting something new and sticking with it. You are not along in your struggles. Good for you for avoiding lying. Make sure to praise yourself for the little wins you achieve. For me personally, recovery has been trying to find a balance between self-love and self-criticism. Remember, positivity will help you change your behavior much more than negativity.
As always, good luck to everyone with their journey towards honesty. As long as we make just a little bit of progress each day, we will all get to where we want to be.
Welcome, Doug. I wish you were posting under better circumstances, but nobody ever seeks this place out if everything is going great. I'm sorry to head about your loss. Unfortunately the most common side effect of lying seems to be failed relationships. Good for you for making the commitment to be honest. It is not an easy journey, but something which you can definitely achieve if you choose to. Stay strong, and remember to be kind to yourself, and to those around you. I believe in you, man :)
