The AAs have to call or text or email their sponsors every day. Since this is the best thing we got, and after reading some of the other topics, I'm going to propose that we do the same, just to touch base.
Hi, my name's Russ, and I'm a liar. I've been honest for 3 days.

Hello everyone. My name is Max and I am a liar. I'm at 2 days honest now. I hope to keep this going and continue to progress with my recovery. I feel like I'm dong better with day to day lying, but occasionally I still slip up. Details are proving difficult as always, but I'm going to keep working on it. Good luck to everyone with their progress.

Hi everyone. My name is Max and I am a liar. I'm late with my check-in today, and will do better tomorrow. Unfortunately I'm back to 0 days honest. Yesterday I exaggerated the price of something by $2 while retelling a story during casual conversation. This sounds like the stupidest detail ever (and it is), but this is exactly the type of behavior that lead me down this path in the first place. I'v managed to eliminate the big lies in my life, and have been steadily improving, but slipping up like this makes me really frustrated. It's a step backwards on my path to recovery. To fix this I will keep a closer eye on my emotions during future conversations, and take note of when I start to feel excited or engaged. This is one of circumstances which triggers my lying. I used to think it was just the negative, confrontational stuff, but it looks like the issue lies at both ends of the spectrum for me. Good luck to everyone with their journey. Keep putting in the daily work. Progress can be painfully slow at times, but at least you're advancing in the right direction.

Hi everyone. My name is Max and I am a liar. I'm back up to 1 day honest and on the right path. Each time I fail to meet my goal, I learn something new. I hope to be completely truthful today and continue my journey towards recovery. Good luck everyone, and have a great weekend.

I hope to live this day simply as me. Maybe I can do something nice anonymously for someone too. I will work to stay on the path of authenticity!

Hello. My name is Angie and I'm a liar. I've been truthful for 1 day. My husband has given me one last chance...the final straw.. to be completely honest with him. I lie over stupid insignificant stuff and can't figure out why. I've read books, made actions plans and have enlisted support from my closest friends. I still stumble. Any advice or guidance would very much appreciated. Thank you and here is to being honest for day 2.

Good day everyone. My name is Max and I am a liar. I'v been honest for 2 days and hope to continue making progress on my journey. As far as advice, lying about insignificant details usually has emotional triggers associated with it. Figure out how you feel during the moments right before you lie, identify those emotions, and use them as indicators. If you find yourself feeling the same way during any interactions, take additional time to respond/make statements so that you can internally check your thoughts and make sure they are honest. Hope this is useful! Good luck to everyone with their journey. One day at a time.

Well. I've made it to day 2. Last night was hard. I told my husband I would not do something that in the past I would have done without thought. I had the strength to make it through without temptation. I do feel better but I still have this dread that it's not going to last.... does this feeling ever leave? I want an authentic loving life with this man. Praying for continued strength.

Angie. Glad you are committed to self care. We lie out of fear! Fear of judgement, abandonment, loosing control, self image, ... Learn to accept who you are with all your imperfections as they really define who we are. And yes it definitely gets easier. Once you start down this path there is no turning back. You will stumble! Let your husband know this, but commit to correcting your lies and exaggerations as they occur. It IS a daily practice! But it is so liberalizing to not have to remember what you said. A lot of brain space freed up! And remember that your past does not define where you choose your future to go!! Have a great day and up coming week!

Hi everyone. My name is Max and I'm a liar. I've been honest for 4 days and hope to keep going. Every day I am thankful that I've been able to make progress on my lying, and every day reflect on the work still ahead of me. This has been one of the most difficult things I've ever tried to do. I'm sure I'll still stumble many times before I get better, but I am not noticing incremental progress. Good luck to everyone with their journey. One day at a time.
